For those that have signed up for his CarePages, you might swing by and leave him a message. I bet he would be glad to hear from any of you.
take care,
Jack
Thanks for the update Jack. Really wish it was better news though.
Re: Randy (BigRedMan) Update
Randy is back home in El Paso, but not doing well. He's very weak and is down to 178 pounds. He is being fed by a tube into his stomach and cannot eat normal food.
Please continue to post on his CarePages Care Page as it means a lot to him.
I had planned to take him to the game this weekend, but he is too weak to travel or attend. It breaks my heart to see Randy endure this terrible disease.
Re: Randy (BigRedMan) Update
I had been keeping up with his care page and knew things were looking rough for him. I'm about to drop by and leave him a message.
Appreciate the update.

You are welcome. I am not sure how often or how much he is able to look at the CarePages, but any messages there are appreciated.
Re: Randy (BigRedMan) Update
Randy has not started to eat the food he should be taking by mouth as it makes him nauseated. He and Becky are flying back to CTCA in Chicago tomorrow morning to see if the doctors can get Randy to feeling better.
Re: Randy (BigRedMan) Update
That's tough. I was hoping that he would make it to the game.
Re: Randy (BigRedMan) Update
As if Randy didn't have to endure enough, he is in a Dallas hospital after he and Becky were stranded in Dallas. They had two different planes experience mechanical problems. Randy became so weak and disoriented that Becky called 911. Turns out his potassium level is very low and he is dehydrated.
Once he is stabilized in Dallas, he will be flown via a medical jet to CTCA in Chicago. I am not sure when he will be able to view his CarePage but I think he will enjoy all of you that continue to post.

I was, too. He is really down about not being able to go. I have a friend who is working with the Rams to try and do something. We were working on having some of the players call Randy, but he isn't in any condition to talk on the phone.
Now, we are working to see if they might send him a card.
Re: Randy (BigRedMan) Update
Thoughts and prayers are with him and his family!
Re: Randy (BigRedMan) Update
Randy has been flown up to CTCA in the Chicago area. They are working to restore his potassium level and do plan to do some more chemo. Becky said that Baylor Medical Center in Dallas took care of Randy quite well and got him stabalized within 24 hours. Still, though, Randy is incoherent from the experience. It is my hope that when his potassium gets adjusted in his body that coherency will return.
At this time, it is normally Becky that looks at Randy's CarePage. If you have the chance to post an encouraging message to her, that would be great.
I talk to Becky everyday and this is a nightmare she is living. It is so very tough to not cry when I hear her doing so on the other end.
Re: Randy (BigRedMan) Update
If any of you would like to send a card, here is Randy's address:
Randal Pocock
5671 Collin Powell Ave
El Paso TX 79934

thanks for the address card will be on its way.Thoughts and prayers are with him and his family
Re: Randy (BigRedMan) Update
I spoke with Becky a short time ago. Randy is improving with the infusion of potassium back into his system. He is coherent again, though weak. He told her to tell us to have a blast at the game.
I am glad that he is improving. Low potassium can lead to a stroke, so he dodged a bullet there.
GO RANDY! GO RAMS!
Re: Randy (BigRedMan) Update
Got an update from his brother on carepages a few hours ago:
This is Gregg (Randy's brother). Randy was having problems while at home and it was decided he should go to Illinois to the CTCA. During the flight, Randy's blood chemistry went haywire and he almosted died. Once he arrived at CTCA they got his chemistry corrected, he started coming back. He now is coherent and talking. His entire family (Becky,Mom, Dad, me, PJ, Loren) are here. It has highten his spirits a lot. Not sure how long he will be here. More updates to follow soon.
Thank God they decided to leave when they did. Sounded like a very, very scary moment for Randy and his family. I am glad to see his spirits are up after seeing his family, but I know he is exhausted right now.
Keep him in your thoughts and prayers!!!
