Hey Randy,

I am not sure how much you keep track of this thread anymore, but I doubt I am the only one who keeps updated through it.

I rarely comment because I am not good at these things (ask my wife) but want to make sure that you realize how much you have meant to those of us who know you (even if only on here) and how much we miss your attempts to keep us grounded through your prankster attitude and sarcastic posts.

Your struggle serves only to reinforce our respect for your indomitable spirit and I hope if I ever get into a situation even remote to yours that I can give it half the fight that you have yours.

My skin and eyes are yellow, and my urine in dark. Both my liver and kidneys are shutting down. I'm pretty much bed ridden. Chasing the pain with meds. The end should be soon. Love you all. This may be my last post on here.


Please take a moment of your day to give a little thought for Randy and his family. Remeber to give even more to your own. We never know how much time we have. Like Randy, let's make the most of what we've got.

I sit here with tears in my eyes with great sadness about what my wonderful friend has endured, and is enduring. The world has been brighter with Randy in it, yet will be a little darker when he makes his journey out of this pain that he does not deserve.

Just so depressing, but what a fighter he has been. I feel very fortunate that I was able to hang out with him on a number of occasions and have some truly memorable times I'll never forget. God Bless him.

I don't come to the clan much simply because of our Red and I have seen this cancer up close and personal..Randy will stay pain Free and asleep till the moment he passes into a beautiful world now..

Celebrate him..you know that is what he wants..Jack?..You were very close to him as well..he will forever be with everyone in our hearts..

I received an email from Randy's mom today - here is a part of it:

Hospice has doubled his methadone (pills Becky has to crush and put through his tube) plus he still does the pain pill under his tongue. Stays in bed now, sleeps a lot. He also has the pain patches on. He feels pain when the methadone (not sure of the spelling of this drug) starts wearing off so she sticks a pill under his tongues till the new dose kicks in.

I don't know if/when anything else will be posted on CarePages. If there is, it will probably be an update from Becky. I bet, though, that is the last thing on her mind right now.

There are a number of people that have changed their profile picture on Facebook to the figure I made for Randy. I surprised him on his 50th birthday with some help from his wife, Becky. I remember when he called after opening it and told me "You made me cry, you <....>!" I was very happy to make the figure for him. I am honored that people are using the picture of the figure as a tribute to Randy.

Randy tried out for the Rams in 1979 and got to play some in one of the preseason games. Randy borrowed some money from Lawrence McCutcheon during training camp - he insists that he did pay the loan back. One of Randy's favorite players was also in that same training camp - that being Jack Youngblood. if I remember correctly, Randy told me that Youngblood knocked him on his butt for messing up a play in camp.

That's awesome you did that for him. Great job also. I didn't know that about BRM's past. I wish him and his family peace.
