A Red/Blue Survey To Prove We're (Mostly) All Purple
Today's vernacular uses the term "Red States" and "Blue States" to divide Americans into ideological categories.
My opinion is that very few fit into the Conservative Red State or Liberal Blue State categories accross the board, particularly when it comes to social issues.
To prove my point, I've devised a simple survey. Now, read the next part carefully - this is important.
DO NOT ANSWER THE QUESTIONS. JUST READ THEM AND TELL ME HOW MANY BLUE ANSWERS AND HOW MANY RED ANSWERS FIT YOUR VIEWPOINTS. IF YOU ANSWER THE QUESTIONS (WHICH ARE CONTROVERSIAL IN NATURE), I WILL DELETE YOUR RESPONSE.
Now, here's the survey:
THE "ARE YOU RED, BLUE, OR PURPLE" SURVEY
1. Abortion. I am PRO LIFE/PRO CHOICE
2. Capital Punishment should be: PART OF THE SYSTEM/ABOLISHED.
3. Gay Marriage: SHOULD BE BANNED/SHOULD BE ALLOWED
4. Flag Burning: SHOULD BE BANNED/SHOULD BE ALLOWED
5. School Prayer: SHOULD BE ALLOWED/SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED
6. School Vouchers: GOOD IDEA/BAD IDEA
7. Unions: MORE OFTEN BAD FOR WORKPLACE/MORE OFTEN GOOD FOR WORKPLACE
8. Gun Control: TOO RESTRICTIVE/NOT RESTRICTIVE ENOUGH
Re: A Red/Blue Survey To Prove We're (Mostly) All Purple
My responses:
5 Blue
3 Red
For a nice shade of, you guessed it, purple.

1 red, no surprise to anyone. But I am a bit of a classical liberal....................
Re: A Red/Blue Survey To Prove We're (Mostly) All Purple
5 blue :) ...................................................

Sorry to be the right-wing nut, but.......
RED across the board
Re: A Red/Blue Survey To Prove We're (Mostly) All Purple
Well, I did say that I thought it would prove that we're mostly all purple. There are always exceptions, and most will lean to one side or another.
Re: A Red/Blue Survey To Prove We're (Mostly) All Purple
uh this was really confusing to me, cuz in canada, red is liberal and blue is conservative :)
Re: A Red/Blue Survey To Prove We're (Mostly) All Purple
6 blue
2 red
Question though - Shouldnt all of your choices be the same? All "should" blue & all "should not" red? Some seemed out of place.
Re: A Red/Blue Survey To Prove We're (Mostly) All Purple
5-1/2 red. One of those I am still debating on.

As long as you vote on the issues, not on the party, we can forgive you.
Re: A Red/Blue Survey To Prove We're (Mostly) All Purple
Um... no... the colors denote the side of the political spectrum the answers represent.
Re: A Red/Blue Survey To Prove We're (Mostly) All Purple
At least a couple of the questions don't work. For instance, while most conservatives favor school vouchers, a substantial number of conservatives fear that vouchers would lead to more government control of private and home schools. Therefore, the "reddest" voters might give the same answer as the blue voter, though for different reasons.
Re: A Red/Blue Survey To Prove We're (Mostly) All Purple
5 red
3 blue
And people wonder why I don't think our current political system works. Sure would like to see and hear people's ideas, rather than political parties values.
