Shameless, Shameless plug.
**I'm not sure whether this will be frowned upon. Feel free to remove it if it's against the rules.

So my band have gotten together and done a little bit of demo recording. It's very dodgy at this point in time, but for a first cut recorded in our drummer's garage we think it's alright. For those wondering, I'm the lead guitarist on this track.
Check it out, tell us what you think- MySpace
Cheers,
Max.

Re: Shameless, Shameless plug.
I like the sound and the guitar is awesome! The vocals however are pretty weak and frankly hard to listen to...could be a bad recording, but it seems the talent gap between the rest of the band and the singer are far apart.

Very shameless Max..... Not bad for a first cut in the garage.
So are the names real? All M's?

Re: Shameless, Shameless plug.
All M's indeed. The guitar and bass parts were recorded prior to adding a second guitarist, so that was my doing.
Matt (the vocalist) sounds fine in rehearsal, maybe it's a dodge recording. It was done in two takes, as opposed to the guitar, which was done in about 20 takes. He's still young, so his voice is still developong, i suppose.
Thanks for the feedback!

Re: Shameless, Shameless plug.
Hey Max, the guitar work is very clean, but too repetitive for my taste. I hear the same cords being played over and over and it distracts me from listening to the singer. Are you playing along with the rhythm guitar for most of the song as the lead guitarist? The guitar solo sounded good and fit in nicely at the end of the song.
I love the word dodgy, but most americans won't understand it.

I like it, the singer sounds fine. Turn up the bass.

I suppose playing the same chords over and over is going to appeal to some and not to others; As the only guitarist at that stage, I played the rythm track and the lead track. I think we can safely say it's a work in progress, maybe a new section is desired to avoid repetitiveness.
By the by, for those who didn't get it...for something to appear dodgy (in this context), it has to be almost what you want it to be...but not quite- to not appear quite as it should.
