Re: Should cell phone use be allowed....
Absolutely not, it's a distraction. If you lived in HK you'd ban them full stop. The only place I've ever lived where it's ok to take a call in the middle of a meeting or in the middle of a dinner or lunch.

Not unless it's a headset, If you're wearing a headset, it's about as distracting as having a passenger in the front seat.

milan once again i agree with you, a headset is fine, it goes back to the woman putting on her makeup while she drives, cellphone or makeup ?which is worse.

I am all for banning them while driving. It does not appear that people can do multiple things at one time.

Re: Should cell phone use be allowed....
I think driving while distracted is the problem. Unfortunately, many people ARE distracted while using a cell phone. On the other hand, CB radios have been around for decades, and if anything are more distracting. Add GPS displays, drive-through food (guilty), shock-jock radio, high-decibel audio systems, cordless razors, and I feel disinclined to make using a cell phone by itself a crime.
I do not own a cell phone.

I have a cell phone, but I use it only when necessary. What I don't get are people who have it attached to their ear constantly.
I've actually been in public mens rooms and heard guys talking to the cell phone while... um... doing their business.
I hope I'm never so busy that I can't put the phone down to take a...

Re: Should cell phone use be allowed....
A cell phone is bad enough, given my workaholic nature, i am a crackberry addict. My blackberry never leaves my side. One of the biggest problems with that is that my business contacts expect immediate (and i mean immediate) responses since they all know that i carry the darn thing with me everywhere i go.

I think it should I mean accidents are bad and all but its a persons choice to talk on a Cell Phone. Not a cops and also they talk on there radio while driving. Isn't that considered a phone? Or could it be?
