Topics too controversial to post....
The following are a series of questions that i consider to be so controversial that i decided not to post them on the board. If anyone thinks that we should discuss them, please post. no offense intended to anyone, these are some of the more difficult issues on which reaosnable people can differ and often provoke very strong views.
1) Do you believe in god
2) where do you stand on abortion
3) should prayer be allowed in schools
4) should the us leave iraq? should we have been fighting in iraq in the first place?
5) should people be able to burn the flag as an expression of free speech?
6) Do you believe in the death penalty? If so, for what offenses?
7) what should the world do about the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
8) do you support nuclear power.

Re: Topics too controversial to post....
How about...
Would you support abortion if you knew that Kurt Warner was going to return to the Rams and have a child who would one day burn a flag in protest of his inability to pray in school for a bomb to be dropped on Iraq to prevent them from applying the death penalty to Saddam Hussein because he encouraged the World to stop believing in God?

Nothing is too controversial a question GC. The answers however......................
1) No.
2) Pro-choice
3) No, religion should be purely a matter of faith, not one of education.
4) No it shouldn't. This is the price we pay for intervention. Yes we should, but not on the BS premise of WMD. We should have gone there because he needed to go.
5) Yes, it's only a flag
6) No, not under any cirumstances
7) World wide ban.
8) Yes, given the alternatives.

LOL Fat Pang must not play on the internet enough. There are plenty of contoversial topics that should be left alone.
I am surprised at how quiet people are in here. Sam got away with posting a pro-pit bull thread and no one said anything. That should have started something up.
Why do we have so many quiet types in here?

I'm off work for another couple of days due to Chinese new year holidays. I need controversial, it helps to kill the time in a suitably brain twisting way.
Promise I won't provoke anyone into an indiscretion this time, I'll be on my best behaviour..............honest.

I am sure you are full of lots of things and they are not all good intentions.
Tell me this, what in the world does Fat Pang stand for?

The last governor of Colonial Hong Kong, Chris Patten, who's chinese nickname tickled my fancy.

Re: Topics too controversial to post....
Interesting choice Fat Pang.
Please don't be offended by my good intentions comment. I was just playing with the words and with the fact that we all have intentions, but they are often good for us and not good for others.
I still can't believe that this board is drawing so little debate for extreme topics. Why is that the case?

Re: Topics too controversial to post....
Not offended in the slightest.
In terms of the debate, not sure why more people don't post. I can't think of much more interesting things to do on the 'net than have these kinds of debates with people from all round the world and vastly different backgrounds.

Re: Topics too controversial to post....
Some of these topics are just too personal; like the topics in this thread. I keep my beliefs to myself. When it comes to war or world matters pertaining to policy, we are not allowed a public opinion as soldiers. I shy away from that kind of stuff for the most part.
As for the lack of activity, I think that some people come to the Clan to just discuss football and the Rams. Not everyone ventures down this way into GC's (Lounge Lizard) domain. Personally, I like it. It is interesting. It also gives you an insight into the beliefs and personality of some of our members.
