Re: Travel advice

Amigo Dez, on the south side of Nogales, i.e., in the state of Sonora, Mexico ... that is not truly indicative of my country's character and culture, I'm sorry to say.

It is mainly a commercialized border town for turists stops. Other than that, the people in general are friendly (whether they're trying to sell you something or not).

It can be enjoyable when keeping the above info in mind.

ˇFeliz viaje!

Re: Travel advice

dez, if you have never seen the grand canyon, it is truly one of the wonders of the world. when you see the size of the hole, you will be seeing the same equivalent in nature of what the falcon runners saw at the line of scrimmage in the rams playoff game last year. It really is that big and wide.

Re: Travel advice

The Grand Canyon is memorable place. We took a family trip in an RV across the country when I was a teenager. We tried to see the Grand canyon at sunrise, but a rock got wedged in between the tires in the back and detained us. We missed the sunrise but it was still an awesome sight. You can hike down or take a burro ride to the bottom if you have the time and the energy. It is a bit strenuous. We got half way down and a thunderstorm rolled thru. It was memorable.

We also stopped at the point where four states meet. I think it is Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. I thought it was pretty cool concept to be at that spot, but there wasn't much there, just some shops selling turquoise jewelry and trinkets.

St Louis was one of our first stops on that trip. The Gateway to the West. :ramlogo:

Re: Travel advice

Austin, TX has to be a stop on your agenda. It's the live music capital of the world for Rams sakes. lol

Anyway, Grand Canyon and Sedona HAVE to be two stops on your list.

Re: Travel advice

If you have time for a detour, I'd head East to New Mexico and visit Carlsbad Caverns National Park.

If you do, make sure you stay and watch the bats exit the caves at dusk.

Re: Travel advice

Well Dez,
If you're going to AZ you may want to head west on I-8 to S.D and enjoy the cooler temps, and beautiful surroundings. And of course toss a few cold ones back. :ramlogo:
