Watchman
I have never got up and walked out of a movie...until now.
After 2 hour and 10 minutes, I couldn't bear sitting through another 30 minutes of slow self indulged banter. I am a huge comic book super hero fan, but this movie gives great movies like Spiderman a bad name.
This was one the slowest movies I have ever watched. Absolutely no substance to hold the viewer. I never read the graphic novel, and I was thinking and hoping I was going to see a action packed, crime fighting team with lots of cool powers. Come to find out it was about a bunch of geriatric, egocentric, self loathing retired vigilantes that have more built up sexual tensions than a teen age boy.
I have hated 2 movies that I have seen in the theater in my life. The Verdict and now this one. Save your $10.00 and buy your kid an easter egg.

Re: Watchman
I wouldn't say it lacked substance. The whole point of the thing is a deep look into human nature and how to save society from itself. No powers, just a bunch of Joes trying to make a difference while the world quietly marches towards a destruction of its own making. Still, I can definitely see why someone who has never read the graphic novel would get bored with it. It looked like instead of adapting the story to film, they tried to film all 400+ pages scene by scene. I liked it somewhat because I had read the source material, but even I'll admit it was slow-paced. It was more like a three hour drama than a traditional action flick.

Hmm. I thought "The Verdict" was a classic, maybe I should go see "Watchmen".

Re: Watchman
Sorry RamWraith but my 15 year-old son and I loved it. I was never bored and didn't even go to the bathroom and at my age a large diet usually gets me up at least once.
Visually stunning, thoughtful and complex.
I agree it wasn't action packed but I didn't go into thinking it was.

Re: Watchman
Just got back from the cinema. I thought it was a great film. A good thought provoking violent film.
Although i admit i did prefer Synder's previous film - 300. Now that was awesome

So is watchman worth watching? I have been thinking about going to see it for a few days now.

Re: Watchman
I thought it was great but... the movie focuses less on the "Hero" aspect and more about what's underneath the costume. I give it thumbs up but don't expect it to be like Spiderman or Iron Man.

I agree with Ramwraith. I went to go see the movie today and I swear it was the worst movie ever. It was like watching a Bad porno Movie. I give it Two Thumbs Down.

Re: Watchman
Interesting reviews. It makes me want to watch the movie to see which side of the line I fall on.
