What piece of technology would you be least able to give up?
What piece of technology could you just not stand to be without?

Re: What piece of technology would you be least able to give up?
I picked computer (laptop) and I will give my reasons.
1) car, hell I would rather use my bike.
2) cell phone (or as we call them, mobiles) hell, I would love to give that up.
3) Microwave ..... never use them
4) Telivision, dont use them much and I can play dvds on my laptop
My laptop wins hands down

Re: What piece of technology would you be least able to give up?
I went with my car.
I remember life without a computer or a cell phone, so those are easy to scratch off the list.
Microwaves are a major convenience, but not a necessity.
TV - truth be told, that would be hard to give up. But, in the long run, I'd rather be out on the road in my car than trapped at home watching TV.

ah but a laptop with wireless is just there. you can take it anywhere. Strap it to your back and off you go.

True enough. It won't be long before the entire planet is a wireless "hot spot."

When I'm cruising in overdrive
Don't have to listen, to no run of the mill, talk-jive
I'm in love with my car...
Got a feel, for my automobile

Re: What piece of technology would you be least able to give up?
Computer - I'd never be able to talk to you guys on here
You guys are my friends and everyone needs a friend. Plus I use it for other things, talking to friends on MSN, looking up sports, doing research papers ... which reminds me I have a paper due next Friday. I haven't started and its on the War on Iraq. I'm against it. Anyways yea!
Car - I can walk to school or ride the bus
Cell Phone - I've had it for like 4 months and have talked like 2 hours
Microwave - Only use to make popcorn
My dad can make it with a popcorn maker that he uses
TV - Only watch the NFL Network, ESPN ... I can find that online and plus I'm sure there is away I could get DirecTv hooked up to my computer . SomehowRamsFan16

As to the pol, I looked at the number of hours I use each (work and play). Computer, hands down.
RF16 - TV Video Tuner card. Still need a Sat box to tune to the channels, but the card gives you the inputs. This space for rent...

I voted computer.
I lived my first 5 years here without a car, and with the great public transportation system, (due to the fact that most people don't have cars but need a convenient and inexpensive way to get around), a car is more of a luxury than a necesity.
Just got my first cell phone not long ago, and easily got by without it before. It's more of a pain than anything else, and one extra bill to pay each month.
I gave up TV 15 years ago, and only miss it when the Rams are playing (which isn't televised here anyway.) With so little time to get everything done as it is, I really can't imagine life with a TV in the house.
But life without the computer.... That would take some getting used to."Diplomacy is the art of saying 'Nice doggie', until you can find a rock." Will Rogers

Re: What piece of technology would you be least able to give up?
The car and the computer are the tough ones for me.
When I am away from home, I can do without the car, but I miss the computer like crazy. It seems like an addiction. I actually have withdrawals when I can't sign on.
I would really miss the car if I still had to work and get places. It would take forever to use public transportation and I really enjoy driving. I'll bet I would be in really good shape though if I had to walk or ride a bike all the time.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

At one point I didn't have any of those but I guess now it would be the computer.
