This friday is my football team's first game and I'm the starting right guard. Friday is also the day of my mom's surgery and she isn't really doing good. Would you play in the game or go to your mom's surgery? I'm torn between two worlds right now. I'm torn between my love for the team and the love for my mom.

Family always comes first. Especially MOM. There will be plenty of other football games to play.

You should go to the surgery, family always comes first. Just explain to the coaches and players how you are torn between the two, but you know you have to be with your mother. If they are true teammates, they WILL understand and stand with you.

If I may ask, what kind of surgery is it? If it's private, that is fine, my thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Your Mom needs you more than the team does. if she chooses to tell you to play the game then it is a tough choice. Otherwise there is no choice.
