Yellowstone National Park
Usually anywhere mountainous with few people. When I vacation I like to really get away into nature and don't mind roughing it.
I couldn't choose a favorite - I just like to get away. OK, OK, ClanRam Bash is the best vacation I have ever taken!
Duluth, Minnesota. Staying off Lake Superior in early summer watching the boats.

My favorite vacation spots are at the Beaches in Miami!! WOW!! I love that place!!
St. Louis, OR North/South Dakota, possibly California but never been there.
The island of Maui
One of my favorites is Sanibel Island, FL, though I'm not sure how much recent hurricanes have affected it. I also love going to New York City whenever we get a chance. Went up for the Thanksgiving Day parade one year, and that was quite an experience.
Mountains, Lakes, and Creeks make just about anyplace a good place.
I did have a great time in England last May. London has much too much to see and absorb in only a week and another week in and around Guildford, Surrey was nice.
I'm ready to go back and spend some time in Picadilly in the museums. I definitely will stay away from the Aberdeen Steakhouse this time.

GO RAMS!!
And that is exactly why I live there!!! And AV is absolutly right, a lot of the people who live here don't really think much of the beach after years and years of it, but the tourist's seem to love it, but my favorite vacation spot is long beach california, I would move to cali in a heartbeat, it is the most beautiful place, I just went last november, and my other favorite is Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, my Dad is a native from thre and we normally visit 2-3 times a year, that's also one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen, so my order is
1. Nantucket Island, Massachusetts
2. Long Beach, California
I am afraid I am one of those who take the beach for granted having lived near it my whole life. :\
I have a view of the backside of the Oceano Dunes Offroad Vehicle Park form my front door, probably 2 miles from the Pacific Ocean as the proverbial crow flies. Most think of Oceano Dunes as part of Pismo Beach althought technically Grover beach actually separates the two.:)
