Who Digs Pink Floyd?

So what is your favorite Pink Floyd song?
If you cannot just pick a song, how about an album?
Hello.
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone home?
Come on, now.
I hear youre feeling down.
Well I can ease your pain,
Get you on your feet again.
Relax.
I need some information first.
Just the basic facts:
Can you show me where it hurts?
There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ships smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin.
When I was a child I had a fever.
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I got that feeling once again.
I cant explain, you would not understand.
This is not how I am.
I have become comfortably numb.
Ok.
Just a little pinprick. [ping]
Therell be no more --aaaaaahhhhh!
But you may feel a little sick.
Can you stand up?
I do believe its working. good.
Thatll keep you going for the show.
Come on its time to go.
There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ships smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin.
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse,
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone.
I cannot put my finger on it now.
The child is grown, the dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb.

Re: Who Digs Pink Floyd?
For me, "Wish You Were Here" edges out "Dark Side Of The Moon".

Re: Who Digs Pink Floyd?
Love Pink Floyd, The Wall in particular. Got so lucky that I was able to see Roger Waters in concert at Roskilde Festival here in Denmark last year, it was truly a great experience! He played some of the songs from The Wall, some of his own stuff, and THE ENTIRE Dark Side Of The Moon album. Encredible! Had speakers installed all around the audience, which gave a great surround-sound experience.

Re: Who Digs Pink Floyd?
I am a pretty big Pink Floyd fan, particularly The Wall album (Wish You Were Here and Dark Side of the Moon are great too).
If you want to hear a pretty cool PF cover, check out Dar Williams' (w/Ani DeFranco backing) cover of "Comfortably Numb").

Re: Who Digs Pink Floyd?
I know I'm going to alienate myself and lose credibility with several of you, but.....
Pink Floyd is THE most overrated band of anytime leading up to (though not including) the boy band era."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Who Digs Pink Floyd?
No, I'd have to say that distinction belongs to The Grateful Dead.

Re: Who Digs Pink Floyd?
I love Pink Floyd, and with all due respect to Hubison, Comfortably Numb is may favorite Floyd song.
Little known fact, toni tennille (of the captain and tennille fame) sings backup vocals on dark side of the moon.

I know, I know. I'm not even saying my opinion is right. Maybe they're the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I just don't "get them".Sorry Hub...with all due respect to Hubison"Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Who Digs Pink Floyd?
Not a fan, and no interest in listening to anything of theirs that is not played on the Oldies Station.
I was never a fan of that genre of music. Too set in my ways to change now.
I also cannot tolerate or figure out the inner city noise that seems to be necessary as soundtracks for almost every commercial on during NFL games now.
I realize a lot of people do like it and more power to them, but it is a real turn-off to me.
