Bash Dinner - Restaurant Poll
While there's still plenty of time before we'll have to make reservations, I figured I'd go ahead and start soliciting opinions on the location for the dinner.
Here are the candidates;
Morgan Street Brewery: www.morganstreetbrewery.com
The Old Spaghetti Factory: www.osf.com
Jake's Steaks: www.jakessteaks.com
Joey B's on the Landing: www.joeybslanding.com *
Show-Me's: www.showmes.com *
* These two I'd have to check on whether they have sufficient room for a big party.

Re: Bash Dinner - Restaurant Poll
I'm really in the dark as far as restaurants. As long as it's down at Laclede's Landing, I'm good, although I wasn't impressed with The Old Spaghetti Factory. I prefer a place like Jake's, where we can get a room that is mingling and visiting friendly. The room at The Old Spaghetti Factory didn't allow for the usual meet and greet activities. For me, it's more about who you're with, as opposed to where you're at.
Sorry Av, I wasn't much help, was I?

Re: Bash Dinner - Restaurant Poll
No, I think that's a good point. While the food was better at Jake's under the old ownership, the "Fire Room" is a great venue for the dinner. I would be fine going back there if that is people want...
HOWEVER... I will note that Morgan Street Brewery has private rooms as well. The key is that I have to have a reasonable number of positive RSVPs to make it worth reserving a room.

Re: Bash Dinner - Restaurant Poll
The main factors to me in order are:
1. Large enough and quiet enough to enjoy the mingling, as Mike said.
2. Cheap enough I can afford it and still have a lot of cash left over for game day.
3. A decent menu.
4. Somewhere within walking distance to the places most of us are staying.Super Bowl Champions 2013!

Re: Bash Dinner - Restaurant Poll
From what I read, Morgan Street Brewery has banquet rooms that they cater for a group. That might be difficult to pull together.

Re: Bash Dinner - Restaurant Poll
Given the opinions, I'm starting to think that, assuming we have 12 or more people, it might just be best to get the Fire Room at Jake's again.

I'd be fine with Jake's. I really like the setup we get there.

After visting all the website links that were posted and looking at all the menus - I voted for the Morgan Street Brewery.

Re: Bash Dinner - Restaurant Poll
I agree that the MSB menu looks really good, but we may go with Jake's simply because they have the best private room.
By the way, I look forward to finally meeting you in person, Mr. Ferter!

Re: Bash Dinner - Restaurant Poll
I voted for Joey B's because I want to win that free t-shirt for eating the Big Joey burger. Aside from that, I'd like to try the MSB if we can get a private room. Maybe Jake's food got better in the two years since we've been there?
I believe!

Re: Bash Dinner - Restaurant Poll
I think we're going to go with Jake's simply because I don't need a headcount to reserve the Fire Room (which is big enough for at least 30 people).

Re: Bash Dinner - Restaurant Poll
Either Jakes went downhill, or I am not that pick, as I don't remember getting bad food there. Of couse my last meal at Jakes was in 2001 or 2002. Been a Down East'r since Dec 2002, and plane tickets are too expensive for frequent trips back home.
Call it Jake's for me. BTW. Food always tastes better when hangin' with the Clan Rammers.
