Potential moves at or before the trade deadline

The mundt injury has me thinking about potential moves. Given how "all in" the Rams appear to be right now, i think its pretty likely that snead is on the hunt looking to make a move. Blocking tight end is probably a need pending hopkins performance, but what else do we really need at this point? Personally, i think the best answer is pass rush on the interior. I appreciate that a flashy high profile speed rusher might be attractive, but i am not so sure about that. We have lewis (sacks in 3 straight games), obo (who is finally showing a real pulse) and hollins (who was the best of the three of them) returning. Maybe a star vet would help, but incrementally, given the cap situation i am not so sure that guy is out there. However, the guy i have my eye on who i am confident is available and could really move the needle is fletcher cox. the eagles are going nowhere and have traded ertz. His cap number is 12 million this year and that might require some work from snead, but with single blocking because of how much attention donald gets, cox could really move the needle for us, even though he is obviously past his peak. Secondary? Maybe, but williams should not be out long.

Thoughts on cox, secondary, anything else realistic that snead could go for?

Mundt (knee) and Funk (hamstring) both out for the year

Mundt and Funk both out for the year. Next man up! I wont be shocked if we pick up a veteran blocking tight end. Not sure if Hopkins can play that role and harris is a converted receiver, i doubt he is ready to be a heavy duty blocker.

Rams gouge giants 38-11; The Good, Bad and Ugly

The Rams ran their record to 5-1 today with an impressive 38-11 road gouging of the badly injured giants. Incredibly, today's Rams win marked the first time in NFL history that a game ended 38-11 and frankly, the Rams blew out the giants much worse than the final score indicated. After a sluggish start, the Rams scored 28 second quarter points to bury the giants and take a 28-3 lead into halftime. Any suspense, the the extent it existed (which it didn't) ended when the Rams got the ball to start the third quarter and ran almost 10 minutes off the clock and then kicked a field to go ahead 31-3. The Rams pushed their lead to 38-3 very early in the fourth quarter on a second Staffford to Kupp td pass before the giants were finally able to move the ball a bit and score a garbage time td with donald and ramsey on the sideline. A huge win for the squad, taking care of business and knocking out an undermanned opponent early, especially fun for me because i was sitting with my daughter directly behind the Rams bench. The Rams were well represented today, with plenty of our fans in the stadium. I will offer some interesting in person observations throughout this article.

The Good

We blew the giants out and gave them no chance to hang around and potentially steal the game at the end. This is what the Rams need to do against inferior teams.

Stafford had another strong game with 22-28-251 and 4 tds for a rating of 128.7. He had one INT as the clock expired in the first half and got lucky on some other balls that could have been picked (see below). However, after another slow start, Stafford changed the game with an absolutely perfect throw deep down the sideline to kupp that dropped over the defender right into kupp's hands as if stafford handed it to him rather than throwing the ball about 40 yards in the air. elite arm strength, elite accuracy and elite touch were all displayed on that throw and catch. Stafford had a nice first td throw to an open woods, a great throw to kupp for a td on a 4th and 1, and a sensational wheel route 25 yard td to henderson (who made a very nice catch) with around 30 seconds left in the half. That made the game 28-3 and ended it. Stafford finished with a final td pass to kupp before he gave way to woolford (who looked horrible in his two throws) for mop up duty (effectively the entire fourth quarter). Still room for improvement for sure (slow start, a couple of could have been picked throws locked into specific receivers, two delay of games) but a overall excellent performance from a guy who is still getting rhythm in the Rams offense and learning how to use all of his toys.

Kupp was terrific again today with 9-130-2 td's. some of his catches are really hard to believe, including a 30 yard gain on a wide receiver screen where stafford initially fumbled the ball. He missed one if not two catchable balls, although neither was a particularly great throw. Outstanding game again and...
