I picked it. To much speed for Ohio St. to handle. Florida was clearly the better team, not even close. Congrats to the Florida Gators!

I sure didn't pick it. I also didn't think Florida had a chance, especially after that Ted Ginn kick return. I'm not a big Gator fan but I just couldn't help rooting for the underdog. Total domination on both sides of the ball, nice job Florida Gators.

I was rooting for Ohio St. the entire game because I picked them to win it all, lol. Seriously though, I will eat my crow now because I thought Ohio St. would roll in this game. Congrats to the Gators.

Since Boise State is the only undefeated team now, shouldn't they be #1?

If they wanted to be #1 they should be in a harder conference where they play a real schedule and ramfan4ever, lets just say I wasn't disappointed to see that USC won

Nelson, Moss leaving Florida for NFL
                January 13, 2007

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Florida All-American safety Reggie Nelson and defensive end Jarvis Moss confirmed Saturday they will leave school early and enter the NFL draft.

Nelson, who had six interceptions and several touchdown-saving tackles, said after the team's championship celebration that he was ready to make the jump to the NFL.

"Yeah, I'm leaving," Nelson said Saturday.

Moss, who had two sacks in the 41-14 victory against Ohio State, also said he had made up his mind.

"I'm leaving," Moss said. "It was a tough decision, but one I had to make."

Receiver Andre Caldwell said Friday he plans to return for his senior season.

Cornerback Ryan Smith and linebacker Brandon Siler, two of the team's five underclassmen who sent paperwork to the NFL's draft advisory board to get an idea where they might get selected in April, have not announced their decisions.

"It's a hard decision. That's why it's taking so long," Siler said. "I'm considering a lot of things: my family. I'm considering my degree. I'm considering a lot of things."

Siler said he planned to make a decision later Saturday.

Underclassmen have until Monday to declare for the draft.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - The schedule-makers were not kind to the Miami Hurricanes.

Season-opening road games at Florida State and Clemson, two of college football's toughest haunts, provided immediate tests. And for Saturday's home opener, No. 12 Miami meets an unbeaten Colorado team that oddsmakers view as a two-touchdown underdog, yet the Hurricanes see as another daunting challenge.

"It's almost kind of turned into an NFL-type schedule where you can't catch your breath," Hurricanes coach Larry Coker said. "You play the Oakland Raiders, you play the Carolina Panthers and now you've got the New England Patriots coming...

Anyone unaware of the importance of Saturday night's clash between Penn State and Ohio State only needed to glance at the ADT National Championship Trophy on display outside Beaver Stadium. This wasn't a national title game, but it had comparable significance for the Nittany Lions. Forget the fact that the winner would have the inside track to the Big Ten championship. This game would answer the question on everyone's mind since Penn State dropped then-18th-ranked Minnesota a week earlier: are Joe Paterno and his boys in blue for real?

The Lions provided a "yes," but not without some drama. Penn State upset Ohio State 17-10 behind a stellar second half from its heralded defense. The Nittany Lions held OSU's offense scoreless after halftime, yielding only two first downs in the fourth quarter. The...

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - There are no games circled on Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz's schedule. He doesn't use a red marker to draw an arrow toward a rival or to underline a top opponent.

"It's a dangerous practice if you just point to a single game because what do you tell your team the next week? 'This one's not quite as big?"' he asked. "They all count for one, so I've never really subscribed to that."

Yet there's no question that No. 8 Ohio State does heading into its rematch with the 21st-ranked Hawkeyes, dating back to last year's 33-7 beating in Iowa City.

"It was a day you'd like to...

SEATTLE (AP) - Let the hype begin.

Tyrone Willingham is embracing the sizzle in the matchup Saturday between his Washington Huskies and his former team, the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, now led by Charlie Weis.

Weis can call the clash of coaches past and present a "distraction" and insist that neither he nor his players will talk about it. Willingham isn't so naive to think that ignoring the obvious will make it go away.

Yet when asked if it's fair that some Notre Dame fans may use the game as a referendum on whether it was right or wrong to fire him last season, three years into his six-year contract, Willingham said that was out of his control.

"Is there anything I can do that will change that?" Willingham said.

What about winning, upsetting the hugely favored No. 16 Irish?

"They'll still have the same referendum," Willingham said. "What will I do to change that thought? It's a great question, but honestly, there's nothing I'm...
