Rams clip colts 29-23 in OT; The Good, Bad and Ugly

After blowing a 23-0 third quarter lead and almost giving our entire fan base a heart attack, the Rams scored a TD on the opening drive of overtime to clip the colts 29-23 and even their record at 2-2. It was a tale of two halfs, with the Rams planning flawless football in the first half, before the wheels came off from the middle of the third quarter until the end of regulation, in what would have been the worst regular season loss of the McVay era. An incredibly guts performance by Stafford who finished the game on one leg, and star performances from Donald and Puka, along with an excellent game from Williams and our offensive line were the difference makers in this hard fought road victory. With the eagles up next on the road and Stafford barely walking, losing this game could have been the start of an incredibly ugly downward path. Now, we still have a pulse and can celebrate a huge win for the squad.

The Good

Stafford was terrific today (other than the one ugly interception). He finished 27-40-309 a td and an interception. Countless throws into brutally tight windows, engineered the game winning drive in overtime, had some big runs when he had to move and showed as much guts as you will ever see from a 35 plus year old player by gutting out the fourth quarter and overtime with a hip injury that had him limping so badly its just hard to believe he could stay on the field, let alone make some of the throws he made, which included an incredible escape and third down conversion late in the 4th to higbee when the defense was completely out of gas. He was better than the 89.5 rating under the injury circumstances.

Puka 9-163 and the game winning td, a 22 yard catch. A couple of one handed catches, big conversions, tough running, he was targeted ten times and made 9 catches, extending his career starting nfl records. There is no question that the guy can play for real. Just a tremendous performance. 39 catches in 4 games. Who would have believed it!

Donald was a disruptive force all game. He is basically our only real pass rush. Stats show very little with him. He had a sack fumble we recovered called back by penalty.
First half was pure Rams dominance other than the missed 46 yard field goal as time expired giving us a 20-0 lead. 250 yards offense, allowed about 100. williams 75 yards on the ground at half, he finished with 25-103, two td's, a huge catch for a first down in overtime and played well, despite fighting some sort of injury which had rivers on the field quite a bit. Rivers also played well and give McVay credit for running the ball this week as we were 36-164 on the ground. What a difference a week makes! Ernest jones had 10 tackles and a sack.

Witherspoon is very good and i like our young secondary. Higbee made some big catches, as did tutu, and higbee had some big blocks as well.
Give the OLINE a LOT of credit. With Boomer at tackle with...

Rams at Colts game-day thread

Well, after a short week and lots of miles, our Rams are back East. Obvioulsy, hoping for a bounce-back game after last week.
