Swept by Philly and now .. I cannot say it. (the team with the worst record in the majors. You know them they used to be the Expos).

A chance at redemption VS the D-Backs over the weekend if he Rockies don't sneak in with another late season surge.

    Sheesh...

I'm absolutely stunned by this current losing streak!!!!!

We have to beat the D-Backs.....However with their pitching it's not looking good.

I am STUNNED as well, laramo! Another "pathetic" loss tonight. 3 runs on 12 hits and 2 errors?! D'backs 9 runs on 10 hits?! The bottom has fallen out! Much closer to 3rd than 1st now. I.M.O. if we do not close this week-end out with 2 wins over Arizona then we're DONE! .......A waste of the acquisitions we made (Ramirez, Blake, Maddux) for the stretch run. I've gone from "GREAT HOPE" to "GREAT DESPAIR" in 11 days! In baseball, that's saying something.:disapointed:

Way more better than it was when we were in the midst of the 8game losing streak!

Dodgers are so streaky this year I hope they don't fall off for the playoff run...;)

So, it's starting to become real ....
                              by RamsInfiniti
And that means no more excuses. You know, we've been one of the league's whipping boys for a couple years know. It's commonplace to crack jokes about the Rams, we have been one of the league's worst. And man, we're just now a decade removed from our glorious Super Bowl run ...

So look at us now? The accountants and lawyers have been run out of dodge. We've got a real football man coaching this team, a real deal coaching staff, no more washed up defensive coordinators, or offensive coordinators trying to reinvent the GSOT. We've got solid football men running the show. While I don't think we'll be high octane and balls to wall, I do think these guys will put a smash mouth no nonsense product on the field, but still find a little time to be creative and fun ...

So what does this all mean? Well, we are not going to be the laughing stock anymore. As somebody mentioned, eventually, somebody is going to start noticing us and then the Rams will matter again. And what will that mean? It will mean losing will really hurt. Not hurt like it did the past two years, because we were just plain bad. It will hurt because there are real expectations, because we will be expected to matter, and we will be expected to be a factor ...

These guys are making all the right moves. Jason Brown was our splash, and I like that, but it's the little pieces that get added that will really count. It will be getting a Setterstrom back on the field, growing an Adeyanju, resigning a Jason Craft to do dirty work, rebuilding Tye Hill, that will make us contenders. Can they accomplish all this in a short period of time? We'll see ...

But boy, what a transformation. Just a year ago, we were one of the oldest teams in the league, now we are one of the youngest. There is a new dynamic here. In recent years past, I've been nervous going into the off season and I've always tried to find someway to be positive, which I have succeeded at. I don't have to find a reason this year, because they've already given us quite a few ...

I must say, the nervousness is REALLY here now, but not because I am afraid to lose. Believe it or not, I'm actually a little afraid of winning at this point ...

Now figure that one out ...

Error: Negativety overload; Now erasing memory.
                              by RamsFan16
As I was away from the computer, at the mall and what not, I kept checking the twitter updates (Because I'm cool like that ) and as I read those updates from OneRamsWay (Nick Wagner), I couldn't help but notice smile.

The reason was not that I thought it was funny, and amusing that we were losing like this, or that I knew that the Rams fans around the world were going to crumble into a steaming, pile of panic... but of what I can expect next week, the week after, this season, and the season after. Not a losing, failing, team.. but a team that's going to keep growing. Of course we aren't going to completely forget about our past 3 seasons, and stop going back to "Same 'ol Rams" as an excuse for impatience, but because "What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger!". The Rams laid an egg tonight if you'd like to put it that way, but the way I think of it, is that under this new regimine, it's going to be expected. And if you look at New England, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and all the greats, have to lay eggs every once and awhile to not only wake up, but to learn from there mistakes. And now look at them, veteran ownership, veteran front office in most, and success.

The great wall of China wasn't made in one day, nor were the pyramids of Egypt. The Rams to get stronger, are going to get small reminders that you have to play focused every game, no matter if it's preseason, or the regular season. You HAVE to be focused. I don't think that tonight should have been unexpected, but merely expected among those who understand foundation and steps. By no means am I alluding to the fact that I expected this, because I didn't. But that we should be patient, and appreciate games like this.

Steve Spagnuolo has always had a great attitude, great philosophy and great mentors. Jim Johnson, Andy Reid, and Tom Coughlin all had to take a step back and wake up to learn from there mistakes.

Be thankful this happened during the preseason, and remember back in 2007? when Spagnuolo first instilled his scheme into the Giants, they got torched the first game of the season, and improved greatly in the following weeks. His message to the team was be patient, and it'll work out. Today, the Rams 1st team defense got torched, so expect next week, to have it be improved, and much improved two weeks from now. Spagnuolo has shown that he learns from mistakes, and knows how to handle his players, going from Philadelphia, to New York, he's shown it.

So fans, be patient, tonight was a wake up call, and a message to the team. And now Spagnuolo's message will be to be patient, it's going to work out.

My Synopsis Of The Rams So Far: New Guy!
                              by Guest
:r First of all, I am new here. *Waves* Names Robert and I am an avid Ram fan. I don't care how bad they play.. I just find myself comming back to game after game.

However, I am also very much like a sports radio personality. So, if I see the Rams coaches or players do something stupid - I'm going to point it out. Obviously this season has been a mitigated disaster. While I think Linehan might be one of the worse offensive cordinator/head coaches I've seen, I also think there are some other issues we (as fans) have not really looked at enough.

Linehan is right about one thing - We've been in a position to win 2 games. In both situations Turnovers and basically Jeff Wilkins have failed. With me saying that, I can't stand the playcalling. The playcalling I've seen completely ignores the kind of talent we have in place. As a result we have this "prevent offense" (thanks Bernie) which results in an offense and team that CANNOT MAKE ONE MISTAKE. They have somehow be perfect. Every off-tackle run has to net +5 yards. Every pass has to get +5 yards. Every field goal has to be perfect. Nothing can go wrong, or we lose.

This was never more obvious than against Carolina. The Rams respond to Carolina's touchdown with a touchdown of their own. Down near the goaline the Rams come out on 2ND DOWN and go with 4 wides and throw a touchdown pass to Holt. It's now 2 weeks later and I've never seen a pass like that called on 1st or 2nd down in the redzone again. When the Rams get to the redzone now, they run twice and pass on third down EVERYTIME. Then trot out Wilkens who then misses.

Now, another thing I think get's ignored - because the playcalling has just been so bad - are the injuries. I've not seen a team this beat up, so early before. Which takes me to our strength and conditioning guy. What is he doing?? Why is everyone getting injuried, not by hits but just from playing ball?

Next weekend, I don't expect the Rams to beat Dallas - none of us do. We just want to see them try to win, instead of trying not to lose. Too much goes wrong. I'm not so sure losing Jackson doesnt help our cause. Or my cause. My cause is to see Linehan stop being such a pussy and go for it. Let er' rip. He's been playing not to lose and were 0-3. It's not working and now we have no Jackson.

I don't mind cheering for an 0-3 team, that still has Jackson/Bulger/Holt and the Rev. With the defense improving there's room for some hope. This offense needs to play harder and more desperate.

While one must give Arizona credit for having a quality, well-coached club, there is no excuse for the Rams to lose that game tonight. Given an opportunity at home to beat an opponent who played with both their 2nd and 3rd string QBs, and missing their starting RB, we couldn't get the job done. We did nothing in this game to give ourselves a spark. No big plays, no pass rush, not one turnover and perhaps the worst half of offensive football in recent memory (and that's REALLY saying something). After a brief "feel good" period featuring shutouts against two NFL doormats, all the old deficiencies reared their ugly head again: poor QB play, poor offensive line blocking/protection, receivers' inability to get open, etc. and so forth. Once again, I enthusiastically look to the end of another long, unfulfilling season which was derailed from the start.

                              Back to Square One
                              by NJ Ramsfan1
I really thought it would be different this time. A proven head coach. A young, energetic GM. An owner spending the big bucks to ensure success. And last year's 7-8-1 mark after a dreadful 10-65 mark spanning several seasons of futility giving us hope. Turns out it appears to all be one big tease- and yet another twist of the large knife stuck in every Ram fan's back for the last decade.

The offensive line blows. DeVaney and company spent millions and tried like hell to upgrade the line only to have injuries and ineffectiveness doom their efforts. Two years later, the line still sucks, Saffold is hurt again, there's no run blocking and Bradford is on his back every 5th play. Seems like we could have John Hannah, Joe Jacoby, Jackie Slater, Art Shell and Larry Allen on our line and still find a way to **** it all up.

It is unfathomable to me how this coaching staff could think this collection of stiffs at the RB position would be enough to compensate for the loss of SJax. These guys are so bad it's pathetic. Tonight's performance was as bad as any I've seen in 40 years of watching Rams football. Unwatchable.

Bradford sucked. I've defended the guy, sung his praises, still feel he's capable of being a winning player and am hopeful he'll have a good year when all is said and done. But tonight he showed why he has legions of critics- missing Pettis on the TD early. Poor reads. Probably could've been picked 3 times if it weren't for drops by the d-backs. Fumble inside our own 5. Poor footwork in the pocket to avoid pressure. It's not always the fault of the line or the receivers. He's not where he needs to be if the Rams are to be successful.

The defense- supposedly the team's big strength going into the season- is a monumental disappointment. Another running back had his way with us tonight, plus a 29 yard TD by a back-up tailback. Where is the pass rush? Other than Quinn, nobody has done anything. And the pass defense is no better. Finnegan is finished. If he could be cut tomorrow, it would be a blessing.

Every year it's the same rationalization; "we're young", "we have a tough schedule", "we have a new (insert position coach/coordinator/head coach/ here)", "the division is stacked". Over and over and over again. When will it end? Blind faith and masochism keep me here. If I had a brain in my head, I'd never watch another Rams game.

Special teams are a joke and have been since Vermeil left. They were horrible under Martz and in 2013, they are a carbon copy. Other than specialists Hekker and Zeurlein, the coverage teams are pathetic- can't open lanes for an electrifying returner and can't keep from committing penalties when something good happens.

I cannot believe how bad a Jeff Fisher team is playing. Penalties. Regression. Bland offense. Last week, I defended Schottenheimer. After watching tonight, I apologize to those...
