Lakers are old. They are lucky Pau, Kobe, Metta, Blake and Dwight are all FA's within 2 years. It's time for them to cut their losses and rebuild.

As for Kroenke, at this point it seems very possible the Rams will be moving back to LA. They can't get the stadium issue worked out and LA is dying for a new team.

No surprise really, they're relying on elite veterans with a weaksauce bench. They should've rebuilt a long time ago but it seems they prefer living off hype. They ought to follow the OKC approach and build off of youth and team chemistry.

I've also noticed that many LA sports teams have been making big free agent acquisitions (Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton with the Angels (even though they're in Anaheim), Hanley Ramirez with the Dodgers, and Dwight Howard with the Lakers).

Laker fans will say I'm crazy, but they should trade Howard before the deadline and pick up either draft choices, or good young players. Then trade Pau for more of the same. Although, they might do better to wait till next year. His contract is expiring then and that makes him more desirable for a team that doesn't want to commit long term but needs a one year rental at center.

The experiment with all the superstars didn't work. Kobe's contract is up after next year too and he can resign for a lesser amount. Then he can chase the all time scoring title while they rebuild. When he's done, they got fresh young talent and boatload of money to add a couple superstars.

It's simple is the Lakers coach is horrible. Bring back Jackson like what will happen after this season and it will be fixed... he finally engaged the owners daughter so they are in at least decent standing now lol

Kobe and the 'Lake Show' are 3-0 so far in the new season. They should be 4-0 by Wednesday, when they hook up with 0-3 LA Clippers again. Lakers beat A. I. and the Denver Nuggets on Saturday, then the Nuggets promptly ship Allen Iverson to Detroit for Chaucey Billups and Antonio McDyess.
I'm already psyched about this years NBA season, especially since my Rams are done for the year. GO LAKERS!

I've been a Lakers, Dodgers and RAMS fan since the mid 60's.

The Lakers have been on my personal back burner. I'm kind of fed up with Kobe and his crying.

However......after watching the Lakers play the Suns on Christmas night I've moved the Lakers back into the front of my brain. I have to admit the team looked good with lots of depth on the bench. The young kid at center Bynum was very impressive. I know it was only 1 game but I like what I'm seeing. I'm not expecting an NBA title this season but we are very close.

OK Laker fans, they are down 1 game to 0 and already are down by 12 in the 2nd. What will happen?

Do the Lakers have what it takes to pull this series out? Or will they fold as expected? :x
