Now this is a solid mock draft, but we'll have to see; alot can happen before the NCAA season is complete.

RB in the second round? Come on. We need to address WR in the 2nd at the least. And if our team is in the top 5 again I'd seriously consider drafting a QB of the future.

I understand your position. But think about it, we have the receiving corp we need already; we have the deep threat in Avery. The sure handed Robinson. The slot man in Burton and the big guy in Martin. They just need time to develop. Plus we have the grossly underrated tight end in fells. We can go a year without drafting a Wideout. Besides, Devaney and Spags initial plan for the offense was to transition to a power run offense. You can't have a consistent and formidable power run offense anymore, if you don't have another talented back.

Bottomline, Steven Jackson apparently is are best offensive player. If he goes down. Who do we have that can replace his production?

You make a legitimate argument however with the lackluster performances from Avery recently and Robinson getting hurt we are now incredibly low on WRs. The truth is, we really are thin on WRs. Until I see more production from Fells (I know he had a great game, but we need to see more consistency, obviously) and McMichael and until Steven Jackson is used more as a quick slant receiver I can't be too excited about our playmakers on offense.

It's hard to say, there's so many different variables that go into why this offense is ineffective...Boller seemed to be a guy who made plays but at the same time didn't have the accuracy Bulger had and already threw a pick while Bulger has not.

            I don't agree with picks 2,3.

IMO, we shouldn't be drafting a RB in the second round. Like what Varg said, we are very thin at receiver, talentwise AND numberwise. Our youngsters at receiver have proven us nothing so far, except for Robinson. Wide receiver is a much more vital need than back-up running back. We can also get some back-up in the FA next year.

For pick 3, I wouldn't want to draft a QB here. Maybe if a back-up running back has fallen to this stage, pick one here. This should also be best talent available, since our team needs all the talent we can get.

I thought it was a rule not to draft Penn State RB's and if this season keeps going the way it's been going then most people will want to draft a QB.

                Well said.

Fells played well throughout the entire pre-season. I really do belive he should be starting over McMicahel.

Are wideouts are young. But they have to continue to learn. Drafting a another 1st day rookie wideout is just going to be more of the same.

I think Ram fans would be more happy with the fact that Bulger wouldn't be starting than Boller stepping out. I'm not to fond. It's only a matter of time before he reminds us why sucked Baltimore and everywhere else.

I Still defend my bid for a Running back in the second round. I would like to see a power run team with a change of pace back.

If our team is going to pursue a power run offense. I would hope they add a talented running back to share carries with Jackson. Someone with speed and a knack for catch passes. force feeding Jackson 400+ carries is not a good idea. An injury to him can easily send our season down the crapper, well, faster than now.

I do have faith in the receivers we have now. They need more time to learn the offense and mesh with the QB. We can also just sign a wideout from Free agency next year.

I would like to take a QB in the 3rd, have him sit for a 1 year or 2, before taking over. By then, the offensive line should be viable at least. Robinson, Avery, Burton, should be savvy veterans and our 2 backs would make things so easy for him........... ugh, wishful thinking most likely.

I am all for drafting McCoy in round one this year. We need that elite college QB to come in and be our QB.

I think we have to address WR and DE in rounds two and three.

Then a right guard to get rid of Cogs in round four.

Young guys can still find ways to make plays. Ours really haven't this year. The Rams signed Danny Amendola on Tuesday, and he was on the field running routes for this offense on Sunday. That's how unstable this team's receiving corps is right now.

Robinson is the only player that has shown the ability to make plays in this offense. Avery, I'm convinced, is being misused. If Shurmur doesn't find a way to incorporate more deep routes in this offense and include some plays to play to Avery's strength, I doubt he develops into much for us. Burton has shown a flash here or there, but that's about it.

This is one of the worst receiving corps in the league, until they prove otherwise. Not adding more talent to the position and trying to give the offense a playmaker they desperately need would be a mistake. If the Rams don't go out and sign a potential starting receiver in free agency, it's tough to see right now how they wouldn't want to try drafting one.

I'm not sure McCoy is what you want in an early first round QB. He spent most of his time in the shotgun. He'll more likely be a better fit in a shotgun/passing offense. Unless he can show he can take snaps from under center, he's not what were looking for, for the system Spags and Devaney are trying to setup.

I have been watching the above player because of the talk about him. I have been dissappointed by his athelticism.

He seems like a big guy but doesn't have that explosion of power like a Kiwanuka had in college. I don't think he projects we has a pass rusher, he seems more like a complementary end the way Long is playing for us.

I will continue to watch, but nothing to great so far for me to want him in our pass rush.
