  • Iowa SLB Jeremiha Hunter (sleeper)

He's a sleeper. Strongside Linebacker in a very strong defense, he's been playing great. He's been shedding blockers very well, and playing very, very strong.

    2009 Stats (TO DATE)
    39 Tackles
    3 TFL
    1 Blocked Kick
    3 Passes Defended
    Assisted sack

    6'2" 240lbs

Heh...I'll bet you meant to say "blockers" rather than tackles.

He's the player that didn't recover the first blocked field goal against Northern Iowa, and then went on to block the second one, right? I believe he's a junior, so he'd probably benefit from another year and seeing where he goes in 2011. The stats I have for him through five games are 41 total tackles (15 solo), 2.5 tackles for loss, 3 passes broken up, 1 blocked kick. The lack of plays made in the backfield would be a concern, though his opportunities to do so may be more limited from the strong side.

Yeah, same guy. Which, in all fairness, it was very hard to judge whether or not the ball crossed the line. Decent stats, but he goes out in coverage a lot, and we don't play as aggressive sometimes. Which may be a cause to the fact that he doesn't have many TFL.

I personally think SOP should be just fall on the ball in that situation, but that's probably less on him and more on Ferentz's coaching. It doesn't really matter since I suspect he won't make that mistake again.

It's really hard to tell, and I was livid when he didn't jump on it. But after we blocked the other kick and heard the story. I wasn't upset, it's a mistake and a hard call to make.

However, tonight, you guys will get to watch Iowa on the National stage again. Some future Rams could be in there too.

              Key players:
              The WHOLE Defense.
              OT Bryan Bulaga

So far, he has a couple tackles and an interception. Good game for him !
