  • RUMOR: Bradford to undergo season-ending surgery

Per Rotoworld, also on ESPNU's Bottom Line as of ten minutes ago...

ESPN's Joe Schad reports that Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery.
The next question is whether Bradford will enter the 2010 NFL Draft coming off a lost season. A case can be made both ways. Bradford, who's injured the AC joint in his throwing shoulder twice this year on nearly identical plays, could possibly still be a mid first-round pick if he has the operation and checks out well at next February's Combine. He could also return for his senior season and attempt to rejuvenate his draft stock.
If you're picking near the top of the first round, it'd be pretty tough to take a guy who has missed most of his final season with injury.

Like MIN taking A. Peterson? That seems to have turned out ok, albeit I know RB is easier to acclimate to than QB.
    This space for rent...

if it was a broken leg i could live with it...but a re-occuring injury to his throwing shoulder for a QB..that`s too risky for me..when you consider that we really need to hit home runs with our high picks in the situation we`ve found ourselves in.

i think the Niners with two 1st round picks and a desire to get their franchise QB of the future, seem a more likely destination. a team who can more afford to take such a risk.

You can also include the SeaSquawks as they also have 2 first round picks. And with Hasselcrack getting more brittle by the day, they will also be looking to score a new
        QB.

        WHAT SAY YE?

I agree, especially after seeing him reinjure the shoulder with a pretty routine hit. I couldn't even imagine Bradford behind the Rams OL. Talk about a franchise affecting disaster waiting to happen.

I don't think that is the case because Peterson was hurt late and was amazing all of his years. He is RB and his injury not as serious as an injury to a QBs throwing shoulder.

It wasn't really a re-injury because it never actually healed. Many rumored that Bradford would be required to have surgery regardless of whether he survived the season or not to fix the problem.

I think this hurts his draft position but it doesn't hurt his NFL career. If the Rams trade down to 10-12, they could still draft him.
