Suh from Nebraska. He was absolutely dominating in the Big 12 championship against Texas. He had about 12 tackles and 3.5 sacks. How often does a DT get that many tackles in game? I know the Rams need a QB, but this guy will fix our run defense AND pass defense immediately. We will probably never get another DT like this again.

this is true...but ..im thinking it from this angle....if u look at spags' history with lineman...most of those beasts on the d-line over from new york werre later round picks...im tihnking ye ....the rams will get good d-lineman in the draft but in later rounds....im really hoping they add more talent on the offense...hopefully they aquire another 1st or 2nd pick round pick... maybe a pick can come from Otagwe's deal....and hopefully be spent on another great 1st round talent ...who knows maybe we can get Eric Berry (or Suh ) and Dez Bryant!!!!!

Suh was a beast today. If he's there when we pick, we have to pull the trigger.

I don't think a wide receiver is necessary at the moment.

After watching the game, I was wondering how many threads were going to pop up about this guy. What a completely dominant performance, against a well-above average Texas Longhorn offensive line. This guy single handedly kept Nebraska in the game, and was absolutely dominant in all aspects of his game. He has to be at the top of our draft board right now, regardless of who is available.

I'd still rather have a quarterback (Bradford), though. We have a much better chance at getting a solid DT in later rounds than we do with a QB.

i'm for picking this guy up and signing pennington or campbell next year. if we grab pennington pick a qb in the 2nd or 3rd and let him learn behind him for a year..

BPA please!! drafting is an in-exact science why compound the problem further by trying to draft for position??

I'm not a football expert by any means but I got goose bumps thinking how good our run d would be with suh, ryan, long, laurinitis

Right now it seems like Suh is the BPA, no matter what pick you have. Draft boards always change after the combine, of course, but when it comes to looking at actual game footage he has to be at the top. He can be even better once Spags, Flajole, and Daly teach him how to use proper technique. He dominates in college by just using his linebacker like agility and speed at 300+ lbs. There is no doubt in my mind that with a little bit of coaching, to go along with what he already has, he can be an absolute monster (barring injury of course).

I'm not here hoping that you guys lose...but I kinda hope you get Suh (which you're going to have to lose to get). You're not making the playoffs anyway.

Back in '97 the Colts started out 0-10. Once they had no chance of making the playoffs, I actually rooted for them to lose because Peyton Manning was the prizefor the team with the worst record. Luckily the Cardinals won a meaningless game in week 17 which gave the Colts the first pick.

I'm kinda hoping the same thing happens for you guys...not just because I think he would be a great fit but also because I'd hate to see him go to Cleveland.

The draft is still months away, so a lot can change. But Suh had one heck of a performance against Texas, and it's going to be a tough to make a case for someone else as the draft's top prospect until we see some bowl games and offseason workouts.

Oh I'm sure someone is going to outrun him by .0005 seconds in the 40, have a slightly better cone drill score, maybe even outlift him so the Rams will definately pass on him because of his combine numbers. Then, he'll go somewhere and when he plays the Rams he'll sack the QB 5 times because the Rams don't necessarily look at how a player actually plays.

                      I hate the frickin combine.

I hear you in that Tx, but I doubt that's going to happen. I'd be shocked if Suh's draft stock drastically falls.

Granted, a lot can change, but I don't see another defensive lineman passing Suh. None of the DE's are in the Mario Williams / Julius Peppers class, especially given Dunlop's DUI incident added to his other issues. And no one is taking a Safety or LB #1 overall with Suh on the board. Is it possible for G.McCoy to pass Suh? That's hard to see at this point. So I don't see a lot changing on the defensive side of the ball as far as who the #1 defensive pick will be.

The only thing I can see at this point is something big happening at QB. Locker, Clausen, or Bradford making a big push somehow. Locker won't declare unless he expects to go in the top 5. So if he comes out, it will be in part due to the Rams picking him #1 or #2, because the Bucs, Lions, Browns, and Chiefs are not taking him.

Agreed, well put. If there's a potential collapse to Suh's grasp on the top spot of big boards around the NFL, I can only foresee it being from (1) something that happens to him during the offseason workouts, or (2) one of the quarterbacks having a great offseason and shooting up the charts.
