Re: Adam Carriker question.
DT, shoulder / torn muscle.
The last game of the 2007 season he tore a muscle in the same shoulder that kept him out until training camp.
In 2007 and 2008 he battled through ankle injuries which he also dealt with during his college career. Both ankles appear to have problems.
It was reported this last June or July (2009) that he was finally at 100% from the shoulder injury that happened way back in 2007 so he battled it all last season. They he hurt his ankle again at the beginning of training camp, keeping him out until preseason was well under way.
He's supposed to be 100% well before mini-camp this spring. How he performs there will go a long way towards whether he makes the team or not. The reality is that he hasn't been healthy for an extended period in St. Louis and he has had about 2 weeks of preseason work to show Spags anything so far. If he shows up healthy, stays healthy and plays well, he'll make the team. If he diverges off that plan with yet another injury, he's going to have a difficult time being seen as the answer. Spags wants a hard hitting, pounding type of defense. If Adam keeps breaking down, that isn't going to be an easy sell.

Re: Adam Carriker question.
You can never have too many DTs, and if I recall Clif is a free agent this year. If we can't keep him stl than we will need carriker to step up. However if we keep Ryan, Carriker is healthy, and Suh is who we think he is, our DT's will be a strength, not a weakness.

Re: Adam Carriker question.
yes im all for depth at DT. get a guy in there giving everything he has for a series, switch him out and get another solid guy in there to do the same. Constant pressure on the opposing line. Ive said it before, the guy i want most as a playmaker on my team has got to be D-Line and more specifically a dominating DT. They simply make the entire defense a better unit

Even just for depth he will probably get one more year to play as a RAM.
If he has any pride, he will realize that his chance to play in the NFL is dwindling and will come back next year in the best shape he has ever been in but otherwise, we should plan to play without him and anything he can give will be a bonus.

That would actually be pretty cool. I wonder if Dorsey would pass the physical this time though...

I don't know for sure, no one does.
