Varg, I agree with you to an extent. I think we should trade the pick - but not so we can pick up a QB. There's not one person who can convince me that there is a QB worth taking in the first round.
If we were able to trade down to get another second and third, then I'd think about going for Sam Bradford with the extra second rounder. The first I would save for a WR.
If we end up picking second, then I think this team could go any number of directions. Both quarterbacks are in the discussion, as is G. McCoy, Berry, and Bryant.

This is the guy Gerald McCoy he is also a DT that is perfect for a 4-3 D-line. I expect Devaney to take McCoy here because our D cannot get pressure or stop the run so we need a DT
Yes we need a QB but is Clausen deserving to be the 2nd pick?

That's why I'm saying we should trade down and get Clausen or Bradford at their respected value slots, if you will. I don't want them at #2 but at say #10 or #11 with Dez Bryant off the board, I'd take a hard look at them.

Fine idea, Varg, but it comes with the age-old problem............who wants to trade up?
IMO, the #1 pick would be easier to trade out of than the #2 in this draft.
Hey, I got an idea: let's trade the #1 pick to the Cowboys for Adam Jones. The headlines would read: Rams trade Donkey Kong for Pac Man. ---rimshot--- thank you folks, I'll be here all week.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
I would go with Claussen. QB is our biggest need and I think he will suprise people in workouts with his demeanor and arm. If Suh wasn't the dominant prospect he is I think debate would be really wide open. IMO the 2nd pick is worse than having the first this year. Suh Great value at number 1, but who is great value at number 2? Probably Eric Berry, but Safety is one of our smaller needs.
Well...first order of business would be to punish Null for foolishing damaging the team's rebuilding efforts by naming him the starter for all next season and then not upgrading the offensive line.
As for the pick....take Gerald McCoy. Hopefully the "durr we got the 2nd best DT with the 2nd pick" crowd takes up Shuffleboard fandom or something else more at their speed.
In an ideal condition, i would hope we could trade the pick to the jags, and get a pick around #17, and their 3rd round pick. Grab wetherspoon with the first, get a QB with the second.
However im not sure we will be able to trade out, if we cant trade our then i gotta say we should go with G.McCoy, not as good as suh but a really excellent player, would be a huge improvment on defense.
First and foremost, fix both lines, then start adding the finishing pieces, maybe let the GM & coaching staff see what they can do in FA, then address the draft.
I'm sure there's a few teams we could throw bait to. I know it's a bit different but with the Jay Cutler/Tye Hill trade from a few years back, I bet a lot of teams would love to get either Berry or another playmaker. I don't know...We'll see. To be honest, I just hope we get the #1 pick because it makes things a lot easier. I'd love to see both the Rams and Lions win their last game to get some momentum to swing in their direction for 2010.
