I promised some of you that I would try to get my list up of those I think the Rams should look at in the first 3 rounds of the draft. I have NO clue if we are even considering looking at these guys, but I'm going to do it right here, right now. As far as I know, these guys should fit the "Four Pillars" of Spags. For now, I'm just posting the names, position, and school. Details will be posted in the next few days. BTW, it's now FOUR rounds!

Round 1: Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska

2: Sean Weatherspoon, OLB, Mizzou
Jason Fox, OT, Miami
Jerry Hughes, OLB, TCU
Trevard Lindley, CB, Kentucky

3: Javier Arenas, CB, Alabama
Ciron Black, OT, LSU
Jerome Murphy, CB, South Florida
Dekoda Watson, OLB, Florida State
Kyle Calloway, OT, Iowa

4: Tony Moeaki, TE, Iowa
Matt O'Hanlon, S, Nebraska
A. J. Edds, OLB, Iowa
Montario Hardesty, RB, Tennessee
Anthony Dixon, RB, Mississippi State

To answer you before you ask - yes, a lot of these players are "out of place", likely to be taken in a higher round. Others are bound to fall into a later round. I am heavy on the OLB and CB for a reason: We need both. Same with a good right tackle.

If you know anything about these guys (with the exception of Suh, we all know about him) please post your observations....Nick, this means you, too.

I'm not the greatest college person to ask but from what I understand, in Spags' defense, the least of his concerns are the linebackers. I understand that we took JLau in the 2nd round last year but I doubt we'd take another linebacker, especially if we take Suh and not a QB in the 1st round.

Honestly, I don't know much about the others name except for Arenas and O'Hanlon. I'd be fine with those picks.

Sorry RFS, I figured some other people would chime in before I offered some opinions. Anywho, I'll go through the lists you've made and point out which of those prospects I'd lean towards in this scenario.

Round 1: Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska

Not much to say here.

Jerry Hughes, OLB, TCU
Trevard Lindley, CB, Kentucky

I like Weatherspoon, and I think if his measurables hold up, he has the kind of size that Spags has had success with in the past.

Fox is intriguing. Am I to assume you're drafting him to fill a vacant RT spot when Smith moves to LT? As a run blocking right tackle, I think he'll have to add some bulk and power to his frame, but he's intriguing.

Hughes I don't think will be available, and may ultimately be more of a 3-4 OLB than a 4-3 DE.

Lindley is a solid player but I think this defense may prefer someone who is a bit more physical. I suspect there may also be better value at the top of the second round at CB, be it Donovan Warren, Brandon Ghee, or Perrish Cox.

Out of those four options, again assuming that Hughes is gone, I'd go Weatherspoon.

I'm not a huge fan of Arenas as I wonder how he'll do as a corner at the next level. Can't say I'd look forward to him and his size going against some of the bigger receivers in the league. I like Murphy quite a bit more, and not just because I'm a Big East guy. I like his size and physicality.

I like both Black and Calloway as RT prospects in this class, but would probably give the value edge to Black at this point. One of the reasons I think this team can pass on someone like Fox in the second round is because there will be some solid RT prospects here in the mid-rounds. These two may even be available a round lower, really.

Watson I might like more in other schemes, but I'm not as big a fan here. Having advocated for Weatherspoon a round earlier in this mock, it's easy to go for another position here. Ultimately I'll go with OT Black and give our struggling offense some help after going D with the first two picks.

4: Tony Moeaki, TE, Iowa
Matt O'Hanlon, S, Nebraska
A. J. Edds, OLB, Iowa
Montario Hardesty, RB, Tennessee
Anthony Dixon, RB, Mississippi State

Having selected an OLB already, I'll knock Edds off my list. That being said, I like him as a mid round SAM linebacker prospect. Don't know a lot about Matt O'Hanlon, and I can't find a whole lot on him either, so I'm wondering how the value would be in the fourth round.

I prefer Dixon to Hardesty, though I wonder how Devany and company will feel about Dixon's July 2009 vehicular arrest. Maybe they're willing to overlook that one; I think Dixon gives this team a legit #2 back behind Jackson, which the Rams definitely need.

When it comes to Moeaki, I worry a bit about injuries at the next level. Maybe RamsFan16 can give us a head's up there, as the resident Iowa guy. I think another tight end option around this point could be Colin Peek.

Out of this list, my choice would probably be RB Dixon.

I didn't see Jordan Shipley on that list. He's very much a 4 pillar guy. And as far as I know he looks like a 2nd round talent.

alright, 1 we dont need a goot RT, as we all know we drafted Jason Smith for a reason.. unless your thinking of switching him to left and puttin some1 new there. CB is no need, we have Ronald Bartell, Bradley Fletcher, Quincy Butler, and if we needed some1 we would pick up Dunta Robinson from free agency.

The idea all along has been for Smith to move to LT. Also, we need a CB because while Fletcher and Bartell looked good at times, Butler really didnt. Also, Fletcher got a bad injury to end his season so may not be able to recover properly

I would rather take Weatherspoon, than Hughes. He has everything LB needs and I doubt there is more complete LB on this draft than this guy. Lindley would be too high at the beginning of second and I am not in the mood to spent any valuable draft pick on RT. Goldberg should start and be servicable.

Rd 3.
From your list, I'd take Jerome Murphy. He's bigger and more robust. Unfortunately, Arenas is just 1.75 (5.9). Too small. However, I would rather go here with WR, like Dezmon Briscoe (I doubt Gilyard will be avaliable here). Our WR group is extremely weak, especially because there's no miracle in the world, which could keep Robinson and Burton healthy entire season (actually I would put 7 WR's on the final roster, just to not search for new, miserable, ones, immediately after season starts).

Rd 4.
Tony Moeaki put some very good blocks in orange Bowl and I really like him, as well as Dixon as someone who would give some rest to our MAN and do it well. But, out of your list, I would rather pick Antonio Coleman here, DE, Auburn, which is quite intriguing player, as I see, not only for me, since you can find him, in various mocks, from Rd 1 (I found it on one place), to Rd 7.

Now, Why I am not in mood to take RT or in fact any OL, from Rd 2 to Rd 6. Just look at this list: Rountree, Spikes, St. Clair, Noa, Kline, Scott, Tercero, Turner, Barron, Incognito, Terrell, Setterstrom, Palmer, Fry, Shackleford, Schuening. These OL's we picked from great OL-1997 draft (Pace-Tucker), pryor to the last one. None of them worked out and there was 16 players! Some because they had no quality (most of them), some beacause of their personal reasons (Cogs, Terrell), some because of health (Setterestrom) and some because they are Alex Barron. No, I didn't forget Greco. When we drafted him, I projected this guy to be our starting RT in 2010, but this won't happen. Now, I'll be happy if he succeed to play guard, opposite Bell. I hoped he'll be better, but I would be fine with adequate play on guard position.

At the end, what do you think about Alabama's CB, Marquis Johnson? He's overshadowed by Arenas and Jackson, but he had some great pass break-ups (and there were not just few of them), this season. Late rounds for him, wouldn't be wasted, I beleive.

Round 3: Kyle Calloway (I like him a bit better than Ciron Black)

Round 4: Anythony Dixon (Him and Ogbonaaya can give Jackson some rest)

Wow. In my mock a few weeks ago I had posted the following draft order:

1.) N. Suh
2.) S. Weatherspoon
3.) C. Black
4.) A. Dixon
5.) S. Canfield

Looks like we are on the same page more or less, at least to this point.

However, I am thinking of maybe putting Bruce Campbell, the tackle from Maryland, at my 2nd pick instead of Weatherspoon. Do you think maybe Campbell might be there at #33? And, what do you think of the idea of taking him over 'Spoon?
