  • A very interesting topic about nfc west!!

I think the rams should draft Ndamukong Suh with the first pic. This will solidify our d-line. They would be able to gather pressure and stop the run well. That would make the QB uncomfortable forcing bad throws and not enough time in the pocket. Thus, making our entire defense better. This all comes into play because we play in a weak NFC West division. Im sure we have all heard that Kurt Warner is retiring, and that Pete Carrol will be the new coach for the Seahawks. San Fran is also vulnerable with their weak offensive attack. If we were able to possibly turn things around with this offseason ahead of us, it could take us a long way... possibly to the playoffs. Get some good playmakers for the offense with FA and the draft. While improving our defense through both aswell.

Things could be very interesting next year!

Interesting Podcast from ESPN on the NFCW, these two guys really seem to know what they're talking about. One guy says he thinks the Rams will be the most explosive offense in the NFL, even better then the Colts. It's about 15 minutes long, they spend 4 minutes or so on each team, the Rams are about 10 minutes in if you want to skip ahead.

Kevin Kolb Sucks! - NFC West
    by sosa39rams
Our Rams are the favourite to take the division next year. We are the only team with a good QB (soon to be pro bowler).

How do you guys feel about the Seahawks and Cardinals battling it out for Kevin Kolb, or Marc Bulger?

I still think we would be the favourites due to our major success in our past few drafts. Kolb strikes me as the type of guy to do good one game and bad the next. Not too sure on how I feel about him ending up playing for the Cardinals. If they were to trade a first, I'd love it. I think he will be no better than Charlie Whitehurst, which obviously isn't good. The NFC West is up for grabs right now and we have to seize our chances.

    The NFC West

Welcome to the new and vastly improved NFC West.

I know only 4 weeks have been played, but i don't think many people believed this division would be the leading the NFL in a few key areas.

    11-5
That is the current record for our division, and it is the best winning percentage(.6875) of any division in the NFL. No matter who wins between Chicago and Dallas tonight, we still have the best winning %.

    8-0
That is the current home record for the NFC West. Talk about home field advantage. The closest any other divisions come is the NFC North(7-2) and the AFC North(5-2) respectfully.

    8
The current amount of interceptions the Rams have, which leads the league. Just felt like throwing that in here.

    275
The current total of Points allowed by the NFC West and lowest for any division. The next closest is the NFC North with 317(Bears yet to play week 4)

I know there are many other statistics and that statistics are not always the end all in proving how good or bad a team/player is. But it is apparent that in this now "pass happy" league, that defense can still be the dominant force and that home field advantage can be more of an advantage then many think. That has surely been proven thus far in the season by our NFC West.

    GO RAMS!!!!!!!

    The NFC West

People have been calling the NFC West the weakest division in the NFL for years now. They can say what they want, but the fact is that the West has represented the NFC in 4 of the last 10 Super Bowls, more than any other division.

I don't know about you guys, but I enjoy rooting for other West teams in the playoffs to represent us well. If we can't beat 'em out during the season, I'd rather see them take it all the way than any other team. The only exception for me was rooting for the Steelers vs. Seahawks, only because I personally can't stand Hasselbeck, but I was pulling for them throughout the playoffs up to that point.

If you find it difficult rooting for our West rivals in the playoffs, remember that one benefit of other West teams making it far in the playoffs (or esp. into the SB) is that their roster and coaching staff is usually raided by other teams afterward, boding well for the Rams in following seasons.

They are pretty much saying the whiners will pass us up in the standings and we are in for a long season, contingent upon our defense. In addition "they" say the Flee Hawks will steam roll through the division again, with only Arizona making a push for the wild card.

This is one time I hope everything falls in place for us and "they" eat thier words. I know we have new coach situation, restructured defense, and tight end concentration dilemma looming over our heads, but what a bold predicition!
