I personally think Ndamukong Suh is the best pick. I think we can wait on another quarterback for next year and have some quarterbacks compete for spots on the rams. I just don't see a great quarterback coming out of this draft. Wouldn't getting bradford be like going with bulger? Your thoughts?

then don't comment on this thread. simple as that. If you think we are don't pay attention. I just came back to this thread to see what people think about the draft. Not trying to beat a dead horse.Last edited by hawaiianpunch; -02-01-2010, 11:05 AM.

Re: Rams who should we draft for number 1?
Suh is a lock as the Number One Overall at this time. 80% here, and I would say that is easily the percentage of most credible draft preview websites. The Combine might shake up some numbers in the top-25, but I cannot see Suh falling even one spot. He was said to be the most athletic player on the Husker squad pound-for-pound, and his on-field dominance speaks for itself. All reports indicate Suh is bright and approachable, confident and ambitious, just what NFL interviewers are looking for.A defeated look of consternation, dissappointment, or even pain. The name derives from the look one often gets when challenged by a large BM.

Re: Rams who should we draft for number 1?
This is a no brainer for me, although in a perfect world, the QB position is preferably filled with the NO.1 pick in the entire draft. SUH just gives the Rams so many more option's than McCoy on the D- Line. I believe SUH is the kind of player that can be moved all around the front four, be it stopping the run on first down, and getting after the QB on third down. Watching the tape on him, I know he isnt the finished article but to me he just screams difference maker (Pro -Bowler). A very special athlete.

OT, but what do you plan on doing with your User Name if the Rams trade down or someone other that Take Suh?

Re: Rams who should we draft for number 1?
also, why did you leave out Jimmy Claussen?
I don't think it is best that you make a poll for #1 pick without Claussen. It shows ur peronal choices are influencing your objectivitiy when alot of people would wanna vote Claussen.
Other isn't fair to claussen.

by lordwhttgrI was high on Sam Bradford in 2009, but after the BYU Cougars broke his shoulder I don't know. I like Tim Teebo and think he has the heart to play great football for us. I however want us to take a Defensive player in the 1st round. It would be good to cheer the Defensive side as much as the Offense like we did for Jones, Youngblood, Olsen, Greene, Dryer, Cromwell and who else.
I think we sould get Ndamukong Suh first in the draft and wait to see if a good quarterback is still availible.-

by THOLTFAN81Everyone on this forum knows where I stand as I have taken plenty of negative rep due to my feelings on us getting Michael Vick. However, if the Rams dont acquire Vick or a veteran quarterback then we almost MUST draft a QB with our first round pick. I would be very disappointed if we went into the season with the three stooges (Bulger, Boller, Null) as the top Qbs on our depth chart. If we don't get a veteran QB, based on his pro days, etc. Sam Bradford is the no-brainer choice in my eyes.
And Avenger, now you truly know that if the Rams don't sign Vick i will not pought or hold anything against them but would begin to heavily embrace drafting a Quarterback of the future in Sam Bradford.
BTW- I am strongly AGAINST Jimmy Clausen..really not a fan of him, dont think hes that good at all.
I know Tampa LOVES Suh so if we don't get a veteran QB i would really like to see us trade the 1st overall to Tampa for their first round third overall and their third round third overall. In this we obtain an extra top 5 3rd round pick while ensuring we get the QB of our choice because Tampa and Detroit won't be taking a QB.
Thoughts?-

by poejoe8After watching the game yesterday and watching him in the previous games, I want to apologize for being in the "Draft Suh Camp" before this years 2010 NFL Draft. Sam Bradford was obviously the right player for the Rams to pick. By no means do I believe that Sam has fully arrived as an elite NFL QB, as I do believe there will be some bumps in the road ahead, however, I do believe he has a promising career ahead of him.
Besides all of the physical tools, this guy is equally impressing me as he makes decisions on the field, before the snap and during the plays. I have been a Rams fan for almost 40 years and I can't remember a QB drafted by the Rams who looks so promising this early in his career. The good news is, we have some young players on both sides of the ball who can grow with him in the next few years as well.
We have a long way to go, but it should be fun watching this team progress.-

I can't be the only one that gets annoyed by all these so called draft "experts" that change there mind like r8rh8rmike changes his underwear...about once a week.
I'm going to use SI's main mock "expert" as an example. Not becuase he's the best, but because his past mocks are easy to find. H3e's just an example of what annoys me.
Don Banks 2010 NFL Mock Drafts thusfar:
Suh is a rock solid concensus as the surest thing. Sounds great, right?
So roughly a month later, the day before the DT's do anything at the combine, the rock solid concensus is now split 50/50 and McCoy is our choice. Um ok. Nothing changed so why did his opinion?
So because of one quote from Devaney, who is only making picks to save his job, we're now taking a QB in Stafford. Yeah ok, whatever you say Donny boy.
Again implying they'll pick to stay employed rather than to make the pick that helps the team the most, while also covering his backside in case they don't pick Bradford. Pretty typical "expert" BS.
Bradford had a good pro day so now it's a sure thing. OK now at this point I can see someone switching to Bradford as a possibility, but before no way. It just makes no sense. But even still what happened to Suh the "rock solid concensus as the surest thing.?"
WOW. We sure did a 180 in two and a half months didn't we. First Suh is the "rock solid concensus as the surest thing" and now to take anyone but Bradford is "the kind of stunning turn of events we haven't seen in years."
This is just one example of what annoys me about these "experts." McShay has flopped from Suh to Bradford also, while Kiper has flipped from Suh being "the most dominating defensive tackle I've seen in 32 years of doing this." to Clausen. It seems like they build up and exaggerate the plus side of whoever they want. For the longest time all we heard was Suh is a lock to go #1 to the Rams, and now it's a QB. Yes I know Blger is now gone, but these guys flopped to QBs while he was still here. Is it anything more than hype and these draft guys feeding off of each other that made Suh go from the guaranteed pick to now being the #2 DT behind McCoy in many people's eyes? I just don't get it. These guys annoy the crap out of me....-

by Bing69I know ill get bashed for this but i really think Suh would be the better choice as the no.1 pick. Now that Carriker is gone, we can forget about that 'we've made 2 high defensive picks in the last 3 years,we have to draft Bradford ahhhhhh' thing. We only have Long now.
Lets think about our defensive line
Long Ryan Robbins Little? Hall
That line aint gonna do very well now is it. Especially if Little doesnt come back. Now if we draft Suh it will look like this
Long Ryan/Robbins Suh Little?Hall
Already looks more solid. Now what if we trade for Osi
Osi Ryan/Robbins Suh Long
That line looks like it could cause trouble.
If we draft Bradford, sure the offense would improve slightly, or it could be just a dire. I understand the logic of picking Bradford, give us hope, a new face for the franchise etc. but Jackson is the face of our franchise. Maybe McCoy will be a wonderful hit (if we draft him)
This is just how i feel, and i can say honestly if we pick Bradford tomorrow i will not be happy! But i will support the lad, and hope he brings the business. I just want us to shun the media and experts by taking Suh and continue to build a good , talented, young base which will put in a good position for years to come-
