  • Torry Holt

After he is cut by the Jaguars, would you be interested in the Rams resigning him to a veteran contract, and let him mentor all the younger guys. I believe Holt can still play. Maybe slip him at #3 on the depth chart and who knows. Worst case scenario he doesnt have much left but mentors guys like Avery, Robinson and Gibson.

I know they cut him last year, but I miss seeing 81 in blue and gold.

We cut him for a reason. I just don't see us bringing him back.

If the price is right why not, it would of been nice if torry retired as a ram.

Maybe if the cut had occurred before we took his picture off the wall... but not now.

Much rather get a good WR coach and keep some of the young talented WR on the roster.

                  Go Rams

Not interested. Torry of today doesn't move like the Torry of old, and the last couple of seasons with us, he didn't even look like he wanted to be here.

That's assuming he wants to come back in and mentor young kids. I don't think he'd like that.

Yeah I thought I recalled the stories from Avery/Burton's rookie year as Holt doesn't talk to the young kids and Holt expects them to learn on their own. I don't think he wants to babysit, I think he wants to pad his stats another year or two.

                            I would rather have Amendola!

                            T. Holt was great. Let the youngsters learn. I hope they hire a great WR Coach.

I dont think Torry has anything to add to a rebuilding team like the rams at this point. I agree it would be better to get the mentor role via a receiver coach (like Ike). Torry showed no propensity to mentor anyone while he was with the rams.

Should he stay or should he go?

Personally, I think that Holt should be in Horns next year. He gives the kids his praise when they make that big play. He's still a consistent player. He's got the heart that we need on this team.

Avery and Burton are still young. Stanley is included also. I think Holt should be a Ram for sure. He teaches these kids so much. As said in another post, Holt pulled Burton aside and talked to him about something. Torry cares about these kids futures.

I would really hate this game to be Holt's last as a Ram. If you thought losing Bruce was bad, losing Holt will be just as bad.

We won't get a good draft pick for him.

Not sure about you guys, but we could use him for a few more years if his body allows him to keep going.

                                Thoughts?

how is he not at the top of that list, steve smith had ONE good year, while torry has put up numbers that no widereciever has ever done, It bothere me that no one even really knows who he is because, they would rather watch a showoff rather than a player who had done more in the nfl, I don't know about you guys but I would go to battle with torry holt anyday, over any other WR in Nfl History....

                                Giving Up on Holt?
                                by MikeB1603
There seem to be a growing number of people that sound displeased with Torry Holt this year. But has he really lost anything? He may be a step slower than years before but I never saw him as a burner anyway. His route running is what got him hall of fame credentials and he is still fine in that department. Holt is a smart receiver and he can adjust to his abilities to become a better player than before. I expect big things from "Big Game" on Sunday against the Cardinals.
