  • Glen Dorsey to > Rams: Makes sense...

    If the Chiefs are unhappy with Glen Dorsey, and he is better suited for a 4-3 defense, I think it is highly probable that the Rams could end up acquiring Dorsey in addition to a couple draft picks for the #1 pick for Suh.

    The Rams now having the #5 overall pick and would be in a great position to take Sam Bradford, Dez Bryant, Derrick Morgan, maybe even pretty boy Clausen.

    Is Dorsey salvageable at this point?

      I would think so. With the right coach and scheme I think he could be a solid player. Spags does specialize in LB's and D-lineman.

        He was only drafted in 2008. He's still valuable.

        What do you think would make this a fair trade?

        Suh = Dorsey + 3rd Rnd Pick?

          If the chiefs gave us DOrsey, their #5 a 2nd rounder for the 1st I would do it

            How about Dorsey for Carriker straight up?

            Carriker is a 3-4 d-end.

            Dorsey is a 4-3 dt

            Rams run 4-3 and Chiefs run 3-4.

            1+1=2, am I right?

            Long, Suh, Dorsey/ Ryan, and Kampman or Peppers? ooh la la

              i've always thought a carriker for dorsey trade made sense. i like the guy, he's in a bad position right now and i think he'd really excel playing for our d.

                Ya know thats the best idea I've heard so far on this forum. But Carriker's hype has worn off, while Dorsey still has a little bit of recognition. We'd have to sweeten the deal a bit.

                Dorsey = Carriker + 6th Rnd Pick

                I think they'd do it!!!! :ram: And I'd still like to get Suh in addition to this trade.

                  WoW I like this idea! I think this might work... now to slip this under the door of Devaney somehow...

                    Carriker for Dorsey would probably be a lot easier to sell if Carriker hadn't missed all of last season. We get a guy who has been in the wrong system, but they get a guy who never was a top 5 prospect and may be damaged goods.

                      Agreed, the only thing the Rams would hear in response to a Carriker-for-Dorsey trade offer is laughter on the other end of the phone before the Chiefs hang up.

                      Dorsey hasn't been stellar, but he's been solid enough. Carriker hasn't even been able to stay on the field. There's no way this trade makes any kind of sense for the Chiefs.

                      As for Kansas City trading Dorsey, their first round pick, and some other pick for the Rams' first overall pick, I also don't see it happening. I suspect they'd rather stick with Dorsey and use that first round pick on another position where they need help rather than trading two picks away to essentially upgrade a spot where they already have a decent player.

                        Alright Nick, what would make this trade happen between the Chiefs and Rams? I'm of the same opinion you are, that a straight up trade wouldn't be adequate. But i do see a good probability of this happening in one form or another. Either we sweeten the deal or we have to trade our #1 spot. I'm not as polished up on this topic as you seem to be. So what would be our options?

                          Re: Glen Dorsey to > Rams: Makes sense...

                          At the moment, the Rams get the best value out of Carriker by having him play for the Rams. He has little to no trade value due to his lack of playing time because of his injuries, at least not compared to what we gave up to draft him.

                              i agree here, there's no way they trade dorsey for carriker straight up but in combination with a 3rd could do it. he's playing out of position, nobody knows that more than the chiefs, they'd like to move him but similar to carriker his value has dropped so much they likely couldn't get more than a 2nd rounder out of him at this point. i don't know how they feel about carriker, but he would be a perfect fit at that spot for them if he could stay healthy.
