  • What type of pro quarterback do you think Sam Bradford can be?

    Ignoring outside factors like the team he goes to, the scheme he plays in, the weapons around him, etc etc, looking at Bradford as a prospect, what do you think his ceiling is? How good can he be, in your opinion?

    Choose an option above. Keep in mind that the players listed aren't meant to be comparisons for Bradford in terms of skills, but rather to give an example of the kind of player considered to be a "very good" quarterback for the purposes of this poll. Just a point of reference.

    I don't think it's fair to judge Matt Ryan yet since he has only played two seasons and had to play through injuries in this one. Is he good now? Yes. Does he have potential to be very good. Yes.

      I went with very good but the real answer should be all of the above.

      For all of the college stats, measurements, interviews, tests, exams, this and that that each player goes through there is no sure way of knowing. No one is a guaranteed success or bust.

      Is Brees elite if he doesn't leave San Diego? Is Favre a hall of famer if the Falcons don't trade him? Would Brian Brohm's career have a brighter future if Flynn didn't show him up in the preseason?

      Not to get to philosophical but I don't think we realize how everything, even little things, can change the course of our lives and alter the original outcome.

      A co-worker stopping me in the hall may have caused me to miss the future Mrs Rambunctious in the elevator... or it may have kept me from getting t-boned and killed in a car accident.

      And I haven't any started about how God apparently plays favorites with some players and teams.

      What... yes... I would like to take my meds now.

      Thank you.

        Yes, Sam Bradford's ceiling is that of Jason Campbell's career.

        Oh my.

          I also put very good. But can never be too sure.

              I put elite. To me, He has a very good chance to being a very good QB, but is also likely to become elite.

              IMO, he has all the skill sets you want from an elite QB.

              * Elite Accuracy
              * Solid Arm Strength
              * Excellent Decision Making
              * Makes Good Reads
              * Has Great Size (6'4, 236lbs.)
              * Has Enough Mobility to Succeed in the NFL
              * A Tough Competitor
              * Natural Leader

              Now, for all we know, he may turn out to be an average QB. Who knows. But, like Rambunctious said, it's all the little things that may or may not happen that could very well determine his career. Like a tip a veteran may or may not give him, stuff like that.

                I went conservative and I put good.

                Then I realized I would love to have Matt Ryan or Tony Romo(Go EIU Panthers) on our team.

                With that being the case, I think it is time to bite the bullet and get our QB. As much as I hate passing on Suh, if Billy D thinks he will be a good QB at worst, then we should draft him and get ready for the future.

                That being the case, you don't reach for Bradford if you are uncertain, instead you take the most certain guy in 30 years, House of Spears.

                It's going to be a fun couple of months, its March already baby!

                    Good points. Yes, Bradford in that BYU game was knocked around a ton by BYU, and he got back up every single time, except for that one shoulder injury. Sometimes accidents happen.

                    To me, I don't think his durability should be a big concern.

                      Where was "it" in the BCS National Championship Game, the Fiesta Bowl, the 2008 game against Texas, the 2007 Texas Tech game, and the BYU game?

                          The only stats that matter in the NFL are wins and losses, and ruthless do it may be, this so-called "franchise QB" of yours has a less than stellar record in crunch time when the chips are down.

                          PS, I was talking about the Texas game when he was a Junior. The one that should have knocked them out of the Conference and National Title games.

                          We in this fanbase like to crack on Bulger because he "can't take us to a Super Bowl." I don't think Bradford can either.

                            lol swear iv never read bulger and superbowl in the same sentence till now...lmao ...but at the end of the day....if the front office believes in his skill (as a player and as a person) and not his W/L in college or in crunch time im all for it..... GO RAMS.....///if they decide to go with bradford....then so be it...but keep in mind he wont be expected to be a saviour in year one....(but as many of us do all the time with these roookie QB's they will expect him to be ) and if hes not in year one , ill count on you to be the first to say told you soo

                              I think he could be very good. When I think elite, I'm thinking future Hall of Famer, and I'm not willing to anoint Bradford as such yet. I do think he has the potential to be up there with the examples cited as "very good", though.
