Re: How upset will you be?

as stated before the signs are everywhereComment

Re: How upset will you be?
this years prolly the last year that rookies are gunna get ridiculous contracgs and to sign a DT which will make him the highest paid DT in the league is pretty much insane....when the position doesnt touch the ball that many times....the financial and risk factors are too important to ignore ....especially for a DT...Comment

Re: How upset will you be?
until they both (im presuming it will be Suh or Bradford) have played atleast two seasons i wouldnt be too dissapointed at it..yes i am a big Suh fan..he looked an absolute beast in college..but so did Jimmy "the buffet killer" Kennedy, D-Lew and Glenn Dorsey etc...
if they select Bradford i will hope for the best..i have some concerns about his durability and dont believe even the best of doctors could be 100% sure its fine to go to last for a decade or so,they can only really speculate on that i think at this point albeit with some x-rays etc for help... until he`s been hit there a few times..if he did turn out to be as good as he is considered able to be tho then having an elite QB is more valuable to any team than any other position..but especially if Spags intends to continue to use his rotational system, picking an "every down" player over a rotational guy gotta win the competition if the talent level is close. fingers crossed if they get Bradford after a trade down then great stuff but if we dont and still draft him with the 1st overall..i can live with that.
if we get Robbins onboard like expected..we could put off drafting a DT until after the 3rd round and could even leave it till next years draft and fill another hole with the pick we might have used this year..perhaps we could get our number 1 wideout in LaFell or Gresham at TE..or get our natural RDE so Long can switch sides of the line..or fill another hole..i do feel tho that if we draft Bradford we would have more flexibilty and less anxiety for the rest of the draft than we would have if we drafted Suh.
if this was the 1st draft for an expansion team then it would be between Suh & Okoung for me but even tho i still think Suh is the better prospect than Bradford..considering what we have at QB compared to what we have at DT..(including Robbins in that) im leaning towards thinking Bradford should be the pick.
i do like Clausen a lot as a prospect but wont go there on this post.Comment

Re: How upset will you be?
I want Suh but I think that after some initial disappointment I'd look forward to seeing whomever we select in horns next year. It would be exciting to see a new, young QB at the helm next year, no?
But if we draft Bradford, I hope it's after trading down to the #3 spot, although with the Rams seemingly thinking of taking a QB at #1 a trade seems less and less likely (since TB would have little incentive to trade up).Comment

Re: How upset will you be?
Aaron Curry has taught me not to jump on a guys bandwagon before he steps onto a NFL football field, so I'll reserve judgment for a few years. Heck the book isnt even out on Long, or even Carriker for that matter. However Despags have not lost my trust yet, so I'll keep blindly supporting them.Comment

I'm not throwing out "what if" scenarios, he will get hammered by the best the NFL has to offer. As a result, our Qb's haven't had the best history of health.
Taking a young QB at this point in time is asinine!!!!Comment

Re: How upset will you be?
One of my big concerns is how ready for Bradford we are vs how ready we are for Suh. Bulger, Null, Boller...those guys didn't end up with their backsides on the turf every week because they were wearing ice skates. Our o-line simply didn't offer the protection needed. Is that really the best fit for a rookie QB, let alone one with a healing shoulder injury like he's had?
As said before, given that he'd most likely have been one of the very top picks last year, you have to say Bradford's quality is pretty obvious. I still feel Suh may be a better DT than Bradford is a QB, but my big concern is that getting Bradford beat up every week is no use to us anyway - so we might as well take Suh, that being the case.
If / once the o-line is bolstered THEN I could see the logic in taking someone like Bradford, I just fear it's a bad move for him and us, the way things stand. That's not an issue with Suh, signing him can only make our D stronger.
One other question keeps coming back to me: if we took either Suh or Bradford, which would you see as the bigger risk? For me, I'm afraid it's Bradford...as I say, as much as anything because of where we are in our rebuilding rather than his own attributes. I just think the position we're in, we have to go BPA. If we don't, there's more of a chance we could be sitting here this time next year having the same debate.Comment

Re: How upset will you be?
I will hope for Suh until we have made our pick. Should we take Bradford I will be behind him and the management hoping for the best.
But thinking about a QB with a potential weak shoulder playing behind our line with almost no weapons is a thought that can keep me awake until the wee hours.Comment
