  • Which "first round talent" do you think might drop to pick #33?

Last year, the Rams drafted James Laurinaitis, who was viewed by many as a first round talent, at the top of Round 2.

Well, try #2, because apparantly my edit didn't count for anything (noted that McCoy was not in the poll, and changed it to Graham...)

Brandon Graham, because he wasn't really on the 1st round Radar until the Senior Bowl that he destroyed. He will probably fall back into the crowd once that hype fades away, and I see him possibly going into the 3rd depending on trends in the draft.

(Is it just me, or are more and more posts being deleted recently?)

I didn't include Colt McCoy (I assume you're not suggestion that Gerald McCoy will drop to the second round) because few (if any) have projected him as a first round prospect. That's not to say that he couldn't be snatched up in the late first round, but I don't think he will be.

There is difference between thinking to fall to the second and dreaming someone would fall to the second. My dream would be for Weatherspoon to fall the the second. I think jahvid Best falls to the second.

I went with Golden Tate. In recent years, the run on WRs has often occurred in Round 2, rather than Round 1. Given Tate's size (5'10, 199), I could see teams being reluctant to take him in Round 1. If he does fall, I would give him some consideration at pick #33.

I dont' think Jahvid Best, RB, California or Campbell are legit first round talents.

I think because of this being a weak RB class (at the top, not depth wise) Best may slip past pick 35.

Campbell's #'s were great but I don't think he should go in round 1.

I think we have so much power with our round 2 pick this year, especially with this format.

Tate would be my pick but I think he goes to the Cowboys

As a cowboys fan I can tell you that we are NOT going to draft tate.
1.) when we sign Austin to a long term deal we will have too much money tied up in that position
2.) Jerry never draft a reciever in the first round. Instead he likes to give up too many draft picks for overhyped player (Galloway and R. Williams)
3.) We actually have a pretty stacked recieving core as it is. The Cowboys do a really good job of finding great recieving talents in the later rounds or after the draft.

Austin was a UFA and we picked up Kevin Olgetree last year and the staff is EXTREMELY high on him. Also the he is quickly becoming a fan favorite because of his hustle, speed, and ability to catch and run. Olgetree is going to emerge as solid reciever in a year or two. As a matter of fact he might be as far as #3 on our depth chart next year filling out the slot position.

I actually would be really surprised if Dallas goes after a reciever in this Draft.

We SHOULD draft a 3-4 NT: Dan Williams if he is available then move Ratliff over to the end where he will be even more dominant than he already is. OR we need to draft an O-line with our first pick. Iupati if he is available.

Went with Patrick Robinson. I can't even remember the last mock I saw with him in the first. I've even seen some with him going in the third recently.

Kyle Wilson is definitely ahead of Robsinson after a stellar combine performance.

                  Kyle Wilson is a stud.

He would be an immediate starter and help us in the return game until we have a real option.

I would defitealy take a chance on Wilson if he is there round 2.

                    A few responses:

                    Wilson is a first rounder.

Robinson, I'd agree, is more of a "riser" right now. He had a very good Senior Bowl week, and ran a 4.42 at the Combine. Given the premium placed on CBs, he'll likely go in the late first round, but would be a good value at the top of Round 2. Not the Rams' highest priority, but still a guy to watch.

As for the RB class, I think most believe it is a very deep crop. There might not be multiple top 15 players, but there are nine guys who will likely go in the first 3 rounds (Spiller, Matthews, Best, Dwyer, Tate, Hardesty, McKnight, Gerhart, McCluster).

spoon could drop just because of a lack of need at the 4-3 weakside linebacker position, and i like him the best here so i went with him, still i think new orleans or philly will probably pick him up.

I wouldnt hesitate to take Tate in round 2. He's so versitile; a major play threat short range and a major play threat deep.

I think Tate is a WR who can run the ball in the same fashion Marshall Faulk was a RB who could catch. Tate is our missing piece, our "X-Factor".

But he won't be there cuz teams and scouts are just now realizing his capabilities...:disapointed:

I voted RB, J. Best from Cal.

Out of the ten players in this poll the only players that might be still available at the Rams spot in rd two are.

                          WR A. Benn
                          RB J. Best
                          CB P. Robinson
                          OT B. Campbell

I chose RB J. Best out of these players.

If a team signs OT A. Barron, I will choose OT B. Campbell.

From the list, I think Jahvid Best, Jermaine Gresham, Arrelious Benn, and Patrick Robinson could all be available with the Rams' second round pick. Though in Robinson's case, I don't think he's a first round talent so I wouldn't classify his availability there as him dropping to us. The rest of them I consider late first rounders, and it seems year after year, guys ranked in the 20s-40s are almost interchangeable depending on who is drafting.

One guy I did not list, but is definitely sliding, is Dez Bryant. After deciding not to work out at the Combine due to a hamstring injury, he did not show up at the OSU Pro Day. He is apparently planning to hold a private workout later this month.

If does not run a 4.5 or better, could he drop to Round 2? Maybe not, but he is starting to look like this year's biggest slider.

As I am watching the senior bowl, I have noticed that Brandon Graham has come to play. Hes doing a fantastic job in the running and passing game.

Hes been a force all game and is dominating the Oline. I would like to consider him for our 2nd round pick. I also like Sean Weatherspoon. He is also having a great game and they would both fill positions of need.

I think we should trade downo ur first round pick. Get Terrence Cody....Unless he is expected to go Top 5. And try to get Pike second round..

Too early to talk draft, but just seeing what rams nation thinks we should do with that pick..
