I keep having this thought pop into my mind. It really makes sense IMO.
Owens is a shadow of his former self and really seems to have come to terms with it. That said, he still makes for a viable secondary option for any team, especially one lacking for playmakers like the Rams currently are.
There is a desperate need for a veteran receiver on this team if we indeed go into next season with a young buck like Bradford taking over at QB. His experience would be really beneficial as well to the rest of the recieving corps.
Avery, Burton and Amendola (2 years), Foster and Gibson (1 year) and Robinson (3 years) show this is a DANGEROUSLY inexperienced unit as a whole.
Owens will benefit from stepping into an offense where he can be considered the best available weapon. He plays alongside Avery, giving STL two capable starting receivers along with some dependable other options, in particular Robinson, Gibson and Burton.
I really think his "attitude" and "team cancer" moniker withers with age, and he could be a very good fit if WR isn't a direction we want to head towards in the draft.
