Rams eyeing Diggs?

Looks as if the Rams are close to signing recently cut OLB Niall Diggs.
After reading through some Panther forum sites, the majority of fans actually think highly of Diggs.
I hope this move comes off, as we need help all over the roster. Experience a plus also.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, there were "indications" Tuesday night that the Rams were close to a deal with free agent LB Na'il Diggs.
The Rams have been the only team to pursue Diggs since he was released by Carolina on March 5. Ideally, they won't pay him more than the minimum.

alright thanks man, now that I have a source. I'd be very pleased if we get this guy, he'll solidify our LB corps a bit, and now we we won't have to worry about grabbing an OLB earlier in the draft much now.

Anybody have more info on this guy? I thought he played SLB but I could be mistaken. If thats the case, would we then move Vobora over to the weak side?

he`s a weakside...he`s 31 but will be 32 before the season starts..like the man he comes in to replace (Paris Lenon) he is a former Packer.

if we sign him we could potentially field an LB unit made entirely out of Buckeyes..(Diggs, J-Lau,Larry Grant)

i expect him to compete for a starting job but see him as depth at this point..

Linebacker is still a top priority regardless but I like this pickup if it comes to fruition. Diggs is more of a strong side guy IMO and could fuel the fire of a VObora to make some improvements and earn the starting job again. We won't leave out of the first four rounds without a linebacker I reckon.

Diggs was in St. Louis meeting with the Rams on Monday.

Panthers fans were shocked he was released. Knows the system he still has gas left in the trunk and he would instantly be our biggest LB. I think he could compete for a starting spot here and groom a replacement we draft in the mid rounds
