i dont think i`ll ever get to grips with how Compensatory picks work out...with the major overhaul of big names in recent years..we still end up with just 7th rounders whilst other teams who dont appear to lose much..like say Steelers,Pats,Cincy etc..get middle round picks.

a 7th is better than nothing i guess tho..get another depth player..

I believe it has to do with losing players who have contracts that have expired, rather than players who were released (i.e. Holt, Pace).

The only reason the rams got a compensatory pick is make up the numbers in the draft (there has to be 255 picks), once all the compensatory picks are handed out the rest of the picks are given out by draft order, hence the rams and the lions getting the last 2 picks in the draft.

lol wow. fear not av, its just a joke my friend! with all the sarcasm you throw around this board ... i thought some from me would register a little better. oh well, i guess not all joke's are funny. i'll try to do better next time.

so that i can remain on topic i'd say this: this board just had a thread talking about D. Vobora and many said he's a solid backup, good special teamer, etc. just goes to show you that you can find talent even in the last pick of the draft. Not saying its likely, it could just end up being an extra body for camp, but its possible. when you have as many needs as the Rams, i'd say having 10 picks is near a 10% better situation than having just 9.

Actually, one guy I'd watch is O'Brien Schofield from Wisconsin. He was a likely 3rd or 4th round pick before blowing out his knee this offseason. Some team may snatch him up earlier than Round 7 but, if not, I think it would be a very smart move for the Rams to take him and stash him away for 2011.

I would even take a chance on him in the 6th.

I'm reading he's a 3-4 LB. But I guess in the 7th round there isnt much too loose on a gamble.

What O-linemen do you like in the later rounds? I'm thinkin' Brandon Carter in the 6th or 7th? But I can't analyze O-linemen worth crap.

DraftCountdown (Scott Wright) Final 3 Round Mock - Rams Picks
                              by AvengerRam_old
Our friend Scott Wright has the Rams taking the following players:

                              Round 1(6): Justin Blackmon
                              Round 2(33): Devon Still
                              Round 2(39): Lavonte David
                              Round 3 (65): LaMichael James

                              I could live with that.

                              Rams' 2022 draft picks set

Now that teams have received their compensatory selections, the 2022 NFL Draft order is officially set.

Including their four compensatory selections and additional special compensatory selection, the Rams have eight total picks to work within this year's NFL Draft, which is scheduled to take place April 28-30 in Las Vegas.

Here is where Los Angeles' current allotment falls:
                              • Round 3: No. 104 overall (special compensatory)
                              • Round 4: No. 142 overall (compensatory)
                              • Round 5: No. 175 overall
