  • McNabb For A 2nd? (RUMOR DEBUNKED!)

Coach Andy Reid admitted that teams are "entertaining" the Eagles with offers for their three quarterbacks.
According to beat writer Ashley Fox, it's "growing ever unlikely" that the Eagles will have all their quarterbacks after the draft. Fox adds that the Eagles have lowered their asking price for Donovan McNabb and Kevin Kolb from a first-round pick to a "fair" price, such as a second-rounder or a combination of high picks. We highly doubt Kolb is going anywhere, but this report at least confirms that the Eagles could be willing to move on from McNabb.

    No.

The Rams need to build for the future. McNabb may have a few years left in the tank, but he's getting up there in years and has had his share of injuries.

I agree for the most part...

Still, with the addition of Suh and McNabb and the state of the West this year the Rams are a playoff team...

There is a rumor going around that McNabb has already been traded to Rams with details to follow. Some players are saying today in PHilly.

Not sure if I would like this or not, but something is definately buzzing.

Would McNabb and Jackson give the Rams a good chance to win the division. I think the Rams should seriously consider McNabb for a 2nd round pick. He knows the system and the Rams can select a QB in the latter rounds or next years draft for the future.

          Go Rams

ESPN didn't say much except McNabb is now expected to be traded .

A division crown this year is not worth consecutive 4-6 win seasons in 2011 and 2012. Pass.

I also have to question the logic behind comments like "his value is a second round pick."

The Rams have the 33rd pick.

The Saints have the 64th pick.

                  Both are second round picks.

                  Which is McNabb worth?

If the Eagles were willing to give us McNabb for the 65th pick, I might be interested.

                  For the 33rd? No thanks.

                    Re: McNabb For A 2nd?

Of course the Eagles would love this trade because #33 is practically a 1st round pick.

i think it would be intriguing at the least, yes the guy is older but he has a good 3-5 years left in the tank, giving us plenty of time to find his replacement. we would also probably have the strongest running game he's ever played next to, and if our receivers stay healthy some guys that actullay have size and run routes. as stated by someone else, it would also open up the door to take suh, which i think is what many of us want.

McNabb's a free agent next year. He would be a one season rental if we traded for him.

Peoria can you please show your work?

I did the math and for some reason when I add McNabb plus Suh minus a 2nd round pick and Bradford I do not come up with 4-6 seasons for 2011 and 2012.

You must have a crystal ball or somekind of magical formula please share cause this logic seems to base on alot of assuming.....

McNabb would not be a Ram past 2010 (he wants to sign with a Championship contender), and the Rams have just dumped at least one critical rebuilding pick. What do we do for weapons past 2010? What will we have for our rookie QB in 2011? This would set the rebuilding program back significantly.

                                McNabb
                                by THOLTFAN81
People on the st louis post dispatch boards are talking about a rumor from 101.1 espn about the rams having "serious discussions" with the eagles about McNabb at the combine..

They are saying they would love it, i would hate it. McNabb is going to be 34 by November next year, and only has a one year contract. Even if he is forced to come here...he would never re-sign with the Rams and end his career where he most likely cant win a super bowl.

I feel like we would be giving up a pick, probably a second rounder for a one year rental. Not smart at all.

Reid Is About The Only One Who Wants To Keep McNabb

Report: Reid is about the only one who wants to keep McNabb
                                By MJD

According to a report this morning at myfoxphilly.com, there's a bit of friction within the Eagles organization about whether they should trade or keep Donovan McNabb.

It seems they're getting a lot of offers for the veteran quarterback. Head coach Andy Reid wants to keep him. "The Eagles' brass" wants to move him. In their words:

There are many interested teams out there, but right now the Eagles are not accepting any offers yet.

Sources tell Fox 29's sports department that the Rams are not one of those teams, contrary to some reports.

But we're also being told that trading McNabb is not going to be easy because internally the Eagles' brass wants to move him but Andy Reid does not.

My first thought is to give some free advice to the brass, whoever that might be: Listen to Andy Reid. He's the one on the field, seeing what works and what doesn't. He's the one who sees the quarterbacks working every day. He knows what's going to win you games, if indeed that is your objective.

If you're looking to save money, get younger and rebuild, fine. But if you want to win football games, listen to your football guy.

If true, it makes for an interesting little situation, not only in terms of what happens this offseason, but all the way through 2010. If there is significant friction, and Reid stands firm with McNabb, you've got to think that the "brass" might tie Reid and McNabb's fortunes together, based on their performance next season.

don't know if this was already posted, but the paper today said the Rams are offerihg the 33rd pick and Atagwe of McNabb. Both sides deny but anyone else heard this? Torry Holt said he was for it on NFL Network. I can't see that much for him. Hell I'm not sure I would even give the 33rd pick.

McNabb done for the year with ACL tear
                                by RamsFan4ever
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb will miss the rest of the year because of a torn ligament in his right knee, ending his season early for the third time in five years.

McNabb was carted off the field early in the second quarter of Philadelphia's 24-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

The Eagles said McNabb tore his ACL.

"That's normally an eight month to a year injury, so he's done for the year," Eagles coach Andy Reid said.

McNabb was rolling to his right near the Tennessee sideline and tumbled out of bounds after throwing an incomplete pass. He grabbed his leg and was immediately tended to by trainers. He was replaced in the lineup by Jeff Garcia.

McNabb, a five-time Pro Bowler, came into the game tied with Peyton Manning for the league lead with 18 touchdown passes and was second in the league with 2,569 yards passing.

McNabb had surgery for a sports hernia and missed the final seven games last season when the Eagles finished 6-10 a year after going to the Super Bowl. McNabb also sat out the final six regular-season games of the 2002 season with a broken ankle before returning for the playoffs.

The Eagles were 2-5 with Mike McMahon filling in for McNabb last year and went 5-1 with Koy Detmer and A.J. Feeley starting the last six games in '02.

McNabb was 6-for-13 for 78 yards and threw an interception in the end zone before leaving the game.
