There seems to be no consensus on any draft sites as to the order of the top 5 or 6 TE's in this draft. But what I really want to know is who will be the best TE left at the top of the 4th round? What does the clanram think?

Re: Best TE in the 4th Round
This is Mike Mayock's Top 5:
1) Jermaine Gresham
2) Rob Gronkowski
3) Dorin Dickerson
4) Dennis Pitta
5) Ed Dickson
So if you're like me, and you respect Mayock's opinions, it is then conievable to believe these five players most likely will not slip to the 4th round.
Too me Aaron Hernandez is the guy. Tough as nails, strong, adujsts to make the catch, breaks tackles, and incredibly durable. I dont understand why he isn't on Mayock's list but I'd take him in the 4th if he was there.

by RockinRamWith the tight end class this year boasting a deeply talented class, which tight end do you personally feel like the Rams should draft, and in what round?
I personally feel that we should take David Njoku in Round 2. I agree with all the sentiments out there that Evan Engram is going to be the next Jordan Reed, but I think Njoku is a bit more athletic than Engram. Although Njoku ran the 40 yard dash in 4.64 seconds (which is still fast for a TE), he was a top performer in the broad jump and the 3-cone drill and is extremely explosive and powerful on the field. He also has the 2nd longest arms in his TE class.
Although he is raw and not the best route runner, I feel he has one of the highest ceilings of any TE coming out this year. And with McVay's track record of coaching TEs, I feel comfortable that he could unleash Njoku's potential.
I think when we pick in the 2nd round, O.J Howard will be the only TE that will be unavailable. However, I predict that at least 4 TEs will go in the 2nd round.

by tomahawk247Its obvious to everyone that an upgrade at the Tight End position is needed. McMichael isnt expected to be back as he is a unrestricted free agent, and Daniel Fells and Billy Bajema are depth guys at best. So the Rams need a new started at TE.
Gresham is still thought to be the number 1 TE in the draft despite missing his last season through a knee injury. Obviously his combine showings will be important, but if he shows that the knee injury hasnt hindered his ability then he could very well be worth consideration.
If Gresham is there at the top of round 2 then the Rams have to be looking his way. However, if the Rams pick up a starting TE in free agency like Tony Scheffler or Ben Watson, its unlikely they will pick Gresham, instead focusing on one of the many other positions that the team could use an upgrade at.
But whoever is starting at QB for the Rams in 2010 would benefit from having a good, young receiving talent at the TE spot. Be it Bulger, a free agent addition, or a rookie QB.-

GaTech's DE Derrick Morgan and RB Jonathan Dwyer have declared.
Morgan is #2 on my draft board. I expect he'll be a Top 10 pick.
Dwyer's entry into the draft can benefit the Rams, as it makes the RB class deeper, which increases the chance that a quality back could fall to the 3rd or 4th round when the Rams might be looking for a backup to Steven Jackson. Dwyer himself is a likely first or second round pick.-
