Everyone seems to be focusing on Bradford at quarterback. Have we all forgotten about Colt? I think his pro day work out is going to be very important for him. If he shows that his shoulder is fine and he can make all the throws, he could be a legitimate contender. I could definitely see us drafting him at the top of the 2nd, while taking Suh with the first overall. That way we could solve two problems at once.

I am interested in Colt, because I don't see how Bradford will be a fit for this system. We are a west coast team, which focuses on short effective and accurate throws. Will we air the ball out once and a while? Of course. Bradford just seems like a better fit for a team that will air it out more. And if you watch the Colt McCoy video on nfl.com talking about his pre-draft work out, he talks about how his first two years in college he played under center. I think he would be the best quarterback in the draft for us.

As NFL executives flock to Austin, Texas on Wednesday to watch quarterback Colt McCoy's pro day, it turns out the St. Louis Rams want to take an extended and more personal look at the former Texas star.
A league source tells ESPN.com that the Rams will hold a private workout for McCoy in Austin before the NFL draft begins on April 22. The exact date of the workout is unknown.



This is an interesting development because the Rams are the favorites to draft Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford with the No. 1 overall pick.

But a source said St. Louis continues to turn over every rock and hasn't completely ruled out an alternative plan, in which the team might select McCoy at the start of the second round (No. 33 overall), while selecting another player with its top pick -- presumably Oklahoma defensive lineman Gerald McCoy or Nebraska's Ndamukong Suh.

There are questions about McCoy's size, but he is garnering interest due to his great accuracy. He completed 70.6 percent of his passes for Texas last season, throwing for 3,521 yards and 27 touchdowns.

Other teams in search of quarterbacks such as the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills also are reportedly showing interest in McCoy.

Thats pretty interesting. To have a 70.6% comp percentage is quite remarkable when you consider he was sacked 30 times in 2009.

I think that he could be there at the top of the third. If that was the case ( you never know) then we could take Suh first, pick up a 1st round talent in the second and still get a possible quarteback of the future.

There's only one explanation for this: the St. Louis Rams plan to draft both quarterbacks and run some sort of two quarterback system, where the defense doesn't know who will be making the pass until the ball is snapped to them! Think of the possibilities!!

McCoy is a good pland B if Bradford force the rams hand to the skins.

1st pick SUE 2nd McCoy 3rd bpa at either TE, RB, DE, OLB. that alone would be a great draft IMO RAMS 2010 see ya there

Colt has a great chance to be good in this league. The kid can throw and take a hit. Just because he got hurt in the title game doesn't mean he's injury prone. I watched him take Bulgeresque hits last year for UT and kept getting up.

He's tough. He's disciplined. He's accurate. He's a winner. He won't last past Minny in Round 1.

I just saw a Fox sports ranking that had Colt at #85.
He should be around for the top of the second round.

Fox has had some pretty wild idea's in sports reporting.. I like the Fox NFL pre game but that's all I really listen to them about football

Honestly I'd rather draft SUH then McCoy in the second hopefully! But don't see where you think Bradofrd isn't a fit for us? He's a perfect fit just like I think McCoy would be

I read on NFL.com that the lions and the Rams were the only team not represented during the workout. I don't think they are so interested in McCoy...

Knowing they had a private workout with McCoy in the future, Rams representitives probably chose to go to the USC pro day instead of the Texas one
