  • B-Dub's Mock Draft

So i had 3 mock off-seasons but this is my sole mock draft.

Round 1 Pick 1: QB Sam Bradford, Oklahoma
    Alternative Pick: Suh
    Pervious pick: Sam Bradford
Analysis: We need a franchise QB and that is what he get.

Round 2 Pick 1: DE Carlos Dunlap, Florida
    Alternative Pick: Jahvid Best
    Previous Pick: Brandon Lafell
Analysis: PLEASE READ!! before you guys jump to conclusions and just shoot down this pick understand what he can do. Yes he did get arrested for a DUI but so did Bradley Fletcher last year and we drafted him. The guys has very nice physical skills and high talent level and is still raw. But look who our head coach is. I think he will be motivated with the Rams. He looks across the field he sees Chris Long a high motor young guy who trys every play. He goes to the bench and sees a veteran like James hall and a guy in Adeyinju who can take his spot. I know this pick will be criticized.

Round 3 *TRADE*: DT ALbert Haynsworth from Washington
    Alternative Pick: Rob Gronkowski
    Previous pick: Corey Wooten
Analysis: The Redskins pick 4th then dont have a draft pick till the 4th round. So they pick up the Rams 3rd rounder and Adam Carriker + 2011 pick based on Haynsworth's performance. But they pay for some of Fat Al's contract. The Rams pay him about 6-7 mill a year. We give up alot but we dont pay much.

Round 4 Pick 1: TE Jimmy Graham, Miami
    Alternative Pick Kyle Calloway
    Previous Pick: Montario Hardesty
Analysis: We need a TE that can catch the ball. Graham has upside we take the risk get him and see if he can turn into the next Antonio Gates.

Round 5 Pick 1: OT Sam young, Notre Dame
    Alternative Pick: Mike Johnson
    Previous Pick : Mike Johnson
    Analysis: Some depth at OT

Round 5 Pick 32: OLB Kavell Connor
    Alternative Pick: none
    Previous pick: Lagarret Blount
    Analysis: Depth at LB

Round 6 Pick 1: DE Kevin Basped
    Alternative Pick: none
    Previous Pick: none
Analysis: very raw DE. Could use coaching.

Round 7 Pick 1: OG Sergio Render
Analysis: Depth at guard probably wont make team

    Round 7 Pick 19: P Jolton Mesko
    Alternative Pick: Armanti Edwards
Analysis: yep why not a Punter

Round 7 Pick 47: CB Patrick Stoudamire
    Analysis: MR. Almost Irrelevent

Post Draft signing: RB Brian Westbrook

    2010 Depth:

    QB: Sam Bradford, feely, Null
RB: Action Jackson. Westbrook, Darby, Oggie
    FB: Mike Karney

WR1: Laurant Robinson, Brandon Gibson, Danny boy
WR2: Donnie Avery, Keenen Burton, Danny Boy
Slot: Brandon Gibson, Danny Boy, Keenen Burton
TE: Dan Fells, Jimmy Graham, Billy Bajema

LT: Jason Smith, Alex barron, Sam Young
    LG: Jacob Bell, John Grecco
C : Jason Brown, Hank Frayley
    RG: Hank Fraley, John Grecco
RT: Alex Barron, Adam Goldberg, John Grecco

LE: Chris Long, James Hall, Kevin Basped
LDT: Cliff Ryan, Garry Gibson, Ramsey
    RDT: Albert Haynsworth, Dorell Scott
    RE: Carlos Dunlap, Victor Adeyanju

SLB: David Vabora, Larry Grant, Kavell Conner
    MLB: JL, David Vabora,
    WLB: Na'll Diggs, Chris Chamberlain

CB1: Ron Bartell, Justin King, Kevin Dockery
    FS: OJ Atogwe, Craig Dahl
    SS: James Butler, Craig Dahl
CB2: Bradley Fletcher, Quincy Butler, Patrick Stoudamire

Not sure if Dunlap will fall to the 2nd round, I see him in the 25-30 range. Also, the Madden-esque Haynesworth trade will not happen.

      Go Rams Go

        I love it B-Dub's.

I love the pick of DE Carlos Dunlap & DE Kevin Basped.:ram:I've been saying for a long time Rams need another DE more than another DT. Well one that can rush the passer not just stop the run with no rushing the passer ability.

The only thing I would change is moving TE J. Graham from the fourth round to third third round. The Rams will be lucky to get Graham in the third.

I don't want Haynesworth on the Rams. The Rams picked up DT Fred Robbins from Giants as a mentor.

I hope the Rams take Deji Karim from Southern Illinois in the fourth round. He is a great change of pace back that can get to the corner. He's 5'-9" ,210 LBS ran a 4.37 - 40. His vertical was 43" and his broad jump was 10'-3". Here is a good point he averaged 7.1 yards per carry.

Wait change that no Punter in the seventh. I hope the Rams pick another TE or OLB . Looking for that diamond in the rough.

Why draft a punter when we have one of the BEST in the league?

Zolton Mesko is going to be the next Sebastian Janikowski, but in punter form. Mark my words.

If we could get Bradford, Dunlap, Haynsworth and Graham I wouldn't give a rat's bass if we drafted waterboys in the remaining rounds.

                That would be sweet!

I don't think it will happen but if it did I would be one happy camper.

Why wouldn't Dunlap fall. The guy needs coaching he as all the physical tools just needs to be groomed. So there are question marks. But i have faith in Spags the way he has coached Cliff Ryan and the way he made some of our DL play.

Okay i dont understand how this is a madden-esque trade at all. Haynsworh has plenty of talent so we give them a 3rd this year and Carriker. ANd a early rounder next year. Remember we have the momentum if the trade goes down. Also they want Carriker and we can care less about him.

I also agree the reason Spags was so successful was because of Osi and Strahan so we need to give the talent on the DL.

About the whole 4th n 3rd round stuff i have alternative picks. Rob G is a very good option for us. If we have to i dont mind us trading back into the 2nd to get him. He is the type that will make the catch with his reliable hands and get us those 1st downs on 3rd and 7. He will also block well for us.

About the running back i dont think its need with Brian Westbrook still available. If we are not 100% convince a running back can back Action Jackson up then Pat Shurmur can just get on the phone and call B-West up and see what's hes got backing up a starter.

You may not like the Haynsworth trade but its fine not many do. But just look at our front four this way Long (future pro bowler) - Ryan (excellent run stopper)- Haynsworth (Best 4-3 DT) - Dunlap (Pass rush and Run stop) It make a top 3 DL.

idk man picking players in the 7th really dont matter in mock drafts no one ever knows who they are anyway. And there isnt much online scouting reports so i just put a punter.

Haynesworth just got a $21M roster bonus April 1. That was why there was so much trade chatter. If you were going to get him at a discount, that was the time. Once they paid him the price went up. There still might be a deal, but I think a bunch of teams were hoping the 'skins would blink and they didn't.

I like everything except one of our 4th or 5th round picks should be used on a WR.

                        Darrio Alexander etc...

Do you really think we need, or even have room for another developmental WR? Our cupboard is stocked with those type of players right now.

Well i dont think we are getting him for a cheap price.

Its a 3rd this year and possibly a 2nd next based on Haynsworth's performance. It compensation.

Unless its a #1 receiver we dont need depth.

                              .

The rumor was that they were asking for a 3rd before the bonus. Do you honestly think they are going to take that now after dropping $21M on him? They wanted to move him to save the money. That ship has sailed. He'd have to be very fat or Shanahan would have to really hate him to move him now.

                                B-Dub's Mock Off-Season 3.0 (It's Different)
                                by BarronWade
                                Players Leaving:

Alex Barron- He had his shot at RT and LT and failed to be consistent at both and his penalties just killed so many drives. And he had some penalties when the Rams were gaining momentum. However with the right coaching he may be successful elsewhere.

Jon Wade- I dont think we will offer him a contending contract. He was our starter at CB and it was his spot to lose. First he lost it to Fletcher then he lost it Quincy Butler nuff said.

Leonard Little- Yes he is loved by clanram but it's time to move on. Little will be missed

                                Randy McMicheal- no explanation needed

Kyle Boller- He wasnt awful but he wasnt decent.

James Hall- Like Little we must move on and get a younger line.

                                Rams that will be re-signed:
                                Craig Dahl
                                Dave Vabora
                                Larry Grant
                                Billy Bajema

                                Cliff Ryan
                                - He did a good job this year and we all know he deserves to be re-signed.

OJ Atogwe- He will sign a 2-3 year deal or be franchised

                                Contract Changed:
Marc Bulger sheds between 2-3 mill from his contract for 2010. If we release him then we save 4 mill but have a void at an experience QB. So we save about 2.5 mill and keep him.

                                Free Agency

SLB Chris Gocong- He can play SLB. He is a solid player good tackler and can help JL.

                                RT Ryan Cook
                                - Decent Tackle he can start for us.

DE Darryl Tapp- We take him away from Seattle give him a good contract for 3 years.

RB Jerious Norwood- He struggled last year but i think we should give him a 1 year deal and let him compete for the #2 spot.

                                2010 Draft

                                ROund 1:
                                Current Pick: DT Ndamukong Suh
                                Previous Pick: DT Ndamukong Suh
Analysis: I wanted to make this different but im not an idiot.

                                Round 2:
                                Current Pick: QB Dan Lefevour
                                Previous Pick: RB Jahvid Best
Analysis: I am already anticipating heat for this pick because it "will not be good draft value." But before the senior bowl Lefevour was a 3rd round projection and his biggest question mark was being under center. He was pretty comfortable if you ask me. ANd if you watched him it looks like he has been very well coached and he throws a very catchable foot ball. By the time the draft comes around Lefevour will be projected as a mid 2nd rounder but if we want him we have to reach. So bring on the heat about this pick.

                                Round 3:
                                Current Pick: TE Jimmy Graham
                                Previous Pick: OG Mike Johnson
Analysis: It's about time that me make a statement about our Offense. We want to get bigger more physical well here is out guy. 6-8 260 pounds. Freakish athlete. Still raw so there is tons he can learn. It's obvious we need a playmaker and a red-zone threat and this is the guy. He is a bloomer/ bust candidate. He does drop the ball...

B-Dub's Rams Mock draft 2.0 (Pisa starting MLB?)
                                by BarronWade
Iight last time i did a mock i had the rams trading up to get James Laurinitis in the late 1st. This is a different mock draft without trades.

Round 1 Pick 2: Eugene Monroe OT
                                Alternate Pick: Jason Smith OT
Why: We just lost Pace and i dont want to wait till the 2nd round to pick up a tackle so IMO we take the best tackle in the Draft. Monroe is better than Smith in the Run and has better footwork and can come in and produce right away.

Round 2 Pick 35: Ron Brace NT
Alternate pick: Lesean McCoy RB, Clint Sintim SLB, DJ Moore DB
Why: we get a big run stopping NT. Cliff Ryan and Brace can team up well at the NT position in Spags DL subs scheme. Also here is somthing worth thinking about. With a big run stopping NT do we need a run stopping MLB? So if we get a big NT i think Pisa can take the MLB position (short term to see how it goes).

Round 3 Pick 66: Louis Murphy WR
                                Alternate Pick: Rashad Jennings RB
Why: Murphy is taller than 6-2 has great leaping ability and seperation ability and good hands. However there is a chance this guy goes before #66. If he does we get Action Jackson's back-up in Rashad Jennings. I am not a fan on Ramses Barden because i just dont know if he can seperate in the NFL.

Round 4 Pick 99: Rhett Bomar QB
                                Alternate Pick: Zack Follett SLB
Why: We need a back-up for Marc Bulger so we take the best available in the 4th. Or here is a guy worth looking at. Zack Follet he is going to be a reach here but he could be a really good SLB who excells in the run and is a great blitzer (good for spags) however he is not good in the pass but we would have pisa in the middle for that.

Round 5 Pick 130: Kyle Moore DE
                                Alternate Pick: Tom Brandstater
Why: I love the way spags always subs the DL and Kyle Moore would be great for that. If he dont get a QB earlier then we go for Tom Brandstater

Round 6 Pick 163: Frantz Joseph MLB
                                Alternative Pick: Ian Johnson RB
Why: Joseph can add depth as a big MLB. I know we just took Vabora last year but Joseph is taller and is better vs. the run. Or we can take a Change of Pace back in Johnson.

Round 7 Pick 195: Devin Moore RB
                                Alternative pick: Brandon Hughes DB
Why: Devin Moore is a Change of Pace RB that can return kicks which is really good.

Also i got question if we draft Curry is Loadholt or Merideth worth the 35th pick? IMO both arent however i would say wait till the 3rd and take that Cadogen.

Also what is your opinion on the Pisa to MLB?

2011 Rams Mock Offseason & Draft
                                by R0CKnR0LLA
Hey guys, I entered into a mock offseason/draft on another board I frequent. Basically we had guys sign up and take over GM duties for each team, running free agency, player trading and drafting for their team. Like last year I took the Rams, here's how it went.

                                PRE-DRAFT

                                TRADES
Traded 7th (#205 overall), 7th (from Ravens, #217 overall) to Cardinals for Steve Breaston
Traded 2nd (#47 overall) to Raiders for Zach Miller and 5th (#145 overall)

FREE AGENT SIGNINGS (Cap space: $30, Spent: $28)
Mark Clayton, WR, Rams, $0 (Franchise Tag)
                                Richie Incognito, OG, Dolphins $6
                                Chad Greenway, OLB $18
                                Roy Williams, SS $4
Lost Gary Gibson, DT (Signed by Giants, $3)
Lost Laurent Robinson, WR (Signed by Redskins, $13)
Lost Daniel Fells, TE (Signed by Raiders, $1)

A note on free agency, each team had their top 4 URFAs enter the FA pool for everyone to bid on. All RFAs and lower end URFAs were assumed to stay with their original team (we did this to keep the FA pool to a manageable size). Each team also had a free franchise tag to use and a cap space number to stay within. Rams had $30 million which was about middle of the road.

                                DEPTH CHART

This is a preliminary depth chart heading into 2011. Some of it (especially the WRs) is still very much up in the air. I'm sure I've left off a few depth guys also but it's just a rough draft.

                                OFFENSE:
QB: Sam Bradford / AJ Feeley
RB: Steven Jackson / Kendall Hunter / Noel Devine / Kenneth Darby / Keith Toston
FB: Mike Karney / Henry Hynoski / Brit Miller
WR1: Mark Clayton / Donnie Avery / Brandon Gibson
                                WR2: Titus Young / Danario...

                                B Dub's 2010 mock draft
                                by BarronWade
So we just lost to the Packers and after that lose itz time to do a 2010 mock draft.

Round 1: Tim Tebow QB, Florida 6-3 235 pounds
                                Alternate Pick: Dez Bryant

If we pick inside the top 7 its going to be a QB. If not i think we go Dez Bryant.

Analysis: Billy D and Spags are building toward a bigger more physical football team. Tebow is 6-3 235 and is a physical runner. The reason i have Tebow is because Pat Shurmur looked more comfortable with a mobile QB behind center. Also something about Tebow yea scouts say his game might not transfer well to the nfl but leadership and work ethic will drive Tebow to live up to potential. And no Tebow wont just be a wildcat QB. I think Bulger stays for next year and Tebow will be waiting in the wings.

Round 2: Brandan Lafell WR, LSU 6-3 209 pounds
                                Alternate Pick: Brandan Graham DE

If Benn, Bryant, and williams out of USC all declare Lafell might drop all the way to the 2nd round. But that is still up in the air so DE Graham is a solid pick.

Analysis: Bigger more physical is the motto of the Rams new regime. Brandan Lafell is a big physical WR. He would make a solid #2. We have to wait and see on Laurant Robinson but if he can emerge as a go-to target we can use Lafell as #2 and Avery as #3. But if Lafell is off the board we can take a 270 pound pass rushing LE Graham. He can start in the sub packages on the DL and later start across Chris Long. But Graham can flat out get penetration.

                                Round 3: Matt Reynolds OT/OG 6-6 320 pounds
                                Alternate pick: John Jerry OG

I put Matt Reynolds there but im not sure he will declare.

Analysis: Reynolds is a good OL. That is solid vs. the Run and pass. He can be used as a guard or a Tackle. He is basically a utility OL. John Jerry is a huge guard 6-5 350 pounds. He is very physical vs. the run. His pass protection is iffy thou. But he would be a solid pick if Bell cant block well we can drop him and start Jerry or Reynolds.

Round 4: Jermaine Cunningham DE Florida 6-3 250 pounds

Analysis: Plays opposite Carlos Dunlap. He is a situational pass rusher. He is destined to be Little's replacement.

Round 5: Colin Peek TE Alabama 6-6 255 pounds

Analysis: Blocking TE. Bajema is only signed for a year. Mcmichael is out. And we can use Fells as the receiving TE and Peek as the blocking TE.

Round 6: Myron Rolle S Florida State 6-2 218 pounds

Analysis: We need some depth at saftey. Yea Rolle chose academics over athletics but he can run a 4-4 40 at 6-2. He can probably help us on special teams.

Round 7: Vinny Rey LB Duke 6-0 245 pounds

Analysis: wrap-up tackler. We need depth at LB so here is that pick.

Round 7: Sherrick McManis CB northwestern 6-1 190 pounds

                                Analysis: well hopefully he...

                                Final Mock Draft
                                by msha
Here is my final mock draft for this year:

Round 1: Sam Bradford, QB Oklahoma - I don't want Feeley or Null playing QB.

Round 2: Rob Gronkowski, TE Arizona - IMO, TE is one of the biggest needs this offseason. Gresham is likely gone, so Gronkowski is the next best prospect.

Round 3: Jonathan Dwyer, RB Georgia Tech - I saw him fall to the 3rd in Nick's mock, so I will say he will be there in the beginning of the 3rd as our #2 RB next year.

Round 4: Javier Arenas, CB Alabama - Arenas would provide depth at CB an have the ability to start if someone goes down. He would also provide a spark in special teams.

Round 5: George Selvie, DE South Florida - I've seen him projected anywhere from a 3rd-6th rounder. He had a disappointing 2009 season after a great 2008.

Round 5: A.J. Edds, LB Iowa - A solid coverage LB to eventually fit in Spags' plans.

Round 6: Jason Fox, OT Miami - Projected as a 5th round pick, he might slip due to an irregular heartbeat. He could be a future starter.

Round 7: Freddie Barnes, WR Bowling Green - He set an NCAA record for receptions last year, he just finds a way to get open.

Round 7: Kurtis Gregory, OG Missouri - An experienced OG to provide depth.

Round 7: Jan Jorgensen, DE BYU - Projected as undrafted, I picked him because it doesn't matter.

                                2010 Depth Chart:
                                Offense

                                QB: Bradford/Feeley/Null
                                RB: Jackson/Dwyer/Ogbonaya
                                FB: Karney
                                WR: Robinson/Avery/Gibson/Amendola/Burton/Barnes
                                TE: Gronkowski/Fells/Bajema
                                LT: Smith
                                LG: Bell/Gregory
                                C: Brown
                                RG: Fraley/Greco
                                RT: Barron/Fox

                                Defense
DE: Long/Jorgensen will not make the team cuz he sucks
                                DT: Ryan/Scott
                                DT: Robbins/Carriker
                                DE: Hall and Selvie
                                OLB: Vobora
                                MLB: Laurinaitis
                                OLB: Diggs/Edds
                                CB: Bartell/Dockery
                                SS: Butler/Dahl
                                FS: Atogwe/Dahl
                                CB: Fletcher/Arenas

                                Kick Returner: Ameldola
                                Punt Returner: Arenas
