Tony Scheffler likely next out Dove Valley’s door
By Mike Klis
Brandon Marshall is gone. And tight end Tony Scheffler may be following him out the Dove Valley doors. Scheffler, the Broncos’ top pass-catching tight end, is close to signing his restricted free-agent tender with the Broncos, a move that _ as the Marshall situation taught us _ is a formality step preceeding the team’s ability to trade him.
At that point, the Broncos will have completed an Holy Trinity overhaul of sorts as Jay Cutler, Marshall and Scheffler _ three of the biggest weapons from the Mike Shanahan era _ will have been traded away in a span of 13 months.
