  • Tim Tebow is so Disrespectful

As of now, Tim Tebow is not the Broncos starting QB. Kyle Orton is. This is not a huge shock because... put simply, Orton is the better QB right now.

    So how does Tebow react?

"My dream, since I was a young boy, of being a starting quarterback in the NFL seemed to be coming true," Tebow told The Denver Post on Wednesday. "Then, I felt like it was grabbed back away."
Really, Timmy? It was your dream, huh? And what do you think Orton was dreaming about? Selling shoes?

As for it being "grabbed away"... please. Its a competition. You're losing right now. Deal with it.

It gets worse. Next, we have to read this:

"Others who say I won't make it are wrong," he said. "They don't know what I'm capable of and what's inside me. My family and my friends have been bothered by what's gone on, and I tell them to pay no attention to it. I'm relying as always on my faith."
That's nice. You rely on your faith. Because, after all, you have a monopoly on faith .

Tim, why don't you show some respect for your teammate and go win the job on the field. Whining to the media that you were dropped on the depth chart is not how you get to be a starter in this league.

So the golden boy finally got a taste of what it is like to not be the #1 and he doesn't like it? I thought he was supposed to be humble and hard working, and he complains that he isn't being handed something he feels like he deserves? Orton deserves that job, he earned it. Tebow apparently needs to learn how to earn his way, something I thought he knew.

I think the wording of this article has an overexaggerated tone that builds the intensity of a Hollywood drama. In a more realistic term, he was excited about reaching his dream of being a starting QB only for it to be gone again, he was basically excited but then disappointed, not whiny about wanting the piece of the starting job.

So Tebow thinks something has been grabbed back away from him? His family is bothered by what is going on? Seems to me what is going on is that the going just got tough, but Tim's not going and he's facing some insecurity as well as self doubt. Now we're really going to see what he's made of. I can't wait to see how this plays out.

This is what comes from getting one's expectations up. It's almost laughable for a player to be upset about the controversy of an open competition before the first pre-season game has even been played.

Tebow might be upset about the numerous reports that Fox and Elway have already named Orton the starter. True or not, nothing is ever set in stone and instead of crying about his "dream being grabbed away", he needs to put it all out there during the preseason and grab it back. The "I'm being treated unfairly" whine is a defeatest attitude.

It's already being reported that it was taken out of context.

Regardless, would you want a QB who had no problem with losing out the starting role?

People are just looking for a reason to criticize him and knock him down. Maybe he's not a great NFL QB but he didn't look bad to me last year.

Out of context or not, when a guy whines about his "dream being grabbed away", and that his family is bothered by "what is going on", it reeks of conspiracy theory claims and makes him look weak.

And as far as people looking for a reason to criticize him, he served up all the reason needed. Regardless, he's going to get four preseason games to prove he deserves the starting job. If he plays lights out and still loses out to Orton, then maybe he has a right to complain. For the record, I like Tebow and have always admired his moxy, but this entire episode makes him look rediculous.

Well, of course he's going to say it was taken out of context. It sounds like the only distinction he's making is that he didn't mean they literally promised him the job only that it felt like they had taken it away from them. That doesn't sound like the comments were really taken out of context at all.

Don't give me the "out of context" excuse. The quotes speak for themeselves.

Timmy thinks he's entitled to the starting job, and he completely disregards the fact that Orton has EARNED the job.

Of course I can't speak for what Tebow is feeling. If anything he has to be very confused and I'm sure a bit disappointed. The Broncos were trying to trade Orton to the Dolphins and the *RUMOR* was that Tebow was in line to be the starter. This was being reported on the NFL Network, ESPN and everywhere else in the world of sports. So how would you feel? Maybe keeping his thoughts and feelings to himself would have been the mature thing to do but he let it out. Whatever, I can't say I blame him. What gives the Broncos the right to play head games with this kid?

I'll agree with you that the Broncos have created a convoluted situation, but IMO it's still a dynamic situation with nothing set in stone. I find it hard hard to believe the Broncos have told Tebow, Orton is the starter, regardless of what happens in the preseason. Rather, as was the case with the Rams naming Feeley the starter before the preseason last year, the Broncos have probably named Orton the starter "for now".

It'll be interesting to see what happens, but the fact remains Tebow has an entire preseaon to make his case. Now is not the time to whine.

I can't believe I am typing this... but I am ok with Tebow coming on board. I have more than once posted "No to Tebow" and I still don't see him as a long time solution but...

                                1) I would rather watch a young, physically talented, hardworking, athlete compete on the field then to watch a deer-in-the-headlights veteran.

                                2) With a few players unable to control their temper, it might be time to get at least A pillar back on the team.

                                3) Marketing wise it might help the stands stay full and would put a crap load of national media attention on the horns. Hey we might even get some prime time TV games.

                                4) Best case scenario we win some close games and it forces Schotty to try some new things.

                                5) Worse case scenario we have a terrible season that would be blamed on him, Tebow would then fade away into obscurity and everyone would welcome Sammy back with open arms.
