Moran to the Whiners

DL Sean Moran signed with the dreaded Whiners today to a three-year, $2.4 million contract on Tuesday. From ESPN.com: "Moran, who spent last season with the St. Louis Rams, will add depth to the [Whiners'] defensive line. He is expected to challenge John Engelberger for a starting position.

I'm happy for him. Hopefully he will finally get the starting job he deserves. He's very versatile (can play end and tackle) and I don't think the Rams used him enough. Even with the departures of Zgonina and Moran, we're very deep on the defensive line.

Let's hope some guys can step up and play full time. I'd like to see Damione Lewis and Brian Young start. Damione is very talented, and Brian Young is a hard worker; together they could wreak havoc, if they can both stay healthy.

Depth is right, EDM. Keep in mind that Jeff Zgonina is still a Ram (resigned today).

There is one small advantage to this. Mike knows Moran's strengths and weaknesses, and should be able to exploit them.

I must've read something wrong. ;) I'm glad Zgonina is back, although that just means we'll hear more of Madden talking about how big his ankles are. He's worth it, though.
