Re: Favorite Ram Commentator
Has anyone on the board been around long enough to remember Bob Kelley, who was the rams play by play announcer and a part owner of the team from the time that they moved to LA until his death in I believe the late 50's or 60's. He was the first true voice of the Rams.

Re: Favorite Ram Commentator
I remember the magic of Gabriel to Snow. When they clicked it was beautiful. I remember watching an Angels game with Snow's son up to bat, Jack was a guest in the announcer's box I believe. There he sat, watching his son who was up to bat with the bases loaded..... BAM! a grand slam.... how proud he must have felt.

Re: Favorite Ram Commentator
Even when I can get the game on a local TV station, I mute the program and turn on the radio to get Jack Snow and Steve Savard's commentary. They are much better at calling what's happening on the field than any tv commentator.
Jack Snow played for the Rams, so when he talks about the franchise, he knows what he's talking about. He's always there at training camp, willing to man a practice when called on to do so. He takes the time to get to know the players and potential Rams so when he comments on a player, he's not talking from heresay. He's also provided excellent PR with the fans (he's more approachable and charismatic than Savard, and yes, I'm sorry to say, more so than Mr. Balzer.)
If Jack ever leaves the booth, I will miss him terribly.

by AlphaRamMany of you may be aware of my wanting to remove "ramparts" from the US National Anthem. It seems that somebody has finally listened...Christine Aguilera!
Instead of singing “O’er the ramparts we watch’d, were so gallantly streaming,” Christine Aguilera sang, “What so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last reaming.”
I'm good with the new lyrics. It is time to stop discriminating against the Rams with the imflammatory lyrics.-

As we head into the final week before Halloween, which Ram do you intend to dress up as (can be a current or former Ram)? The question can apply as well to who your kids will dress up as (ram wise).
While many on this board tend to vary their Ram costume from year to year, its well known that the Big Bison maintains the same Rams identity every halloween, for obvious reasons (hint, he is a not a current Ram (i dont believe that he ever played for us in an actual game and he has extensive movie experience).

Who is the meanest ram ever to wear the horns. I mean downright nasty and ornery, not just tough, but an absolute holy terror on the field, a man that struck fear in his opponents on virtually every play.
My nominees.
Deacon Jones. I think he has to be the winner.
Dennis Harrah. A natural born killer and a true beast for many many years. Doesnt get the publicity of a tom mack or even a timmerman, but truly an all time great.
Big Jackie. A truly violent man on the field
Hacksaw Reynolds. Another guy whose intensity was legendary.
Your thoughts guys.
