    ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
    01/01/2007

The Rams will play Arizona, San Francisco, Seattle, Atlanta, Carolina, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Green Bay at home next year.

They will face Arizona, San Francisco, Seattle, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Baltimore, Cincinnati and Dallas on the road.

Fourteen of the Rams' 16 opponents were set before Sunday. But by finishing second in the NFC West, the Rams play host to the second-place team in the NFC North (Green Bay), and visit the second-place team in the NFC East (Dallas).

Dates and times won't be set until April.

after looking at that list of opponents there's no reason we shouldn't be able to go 16-0.

The road games at Baltimore and New Orleans are gonna be tough ones, and we get revenge against the Panthers so thats good, And I hope the Rams beat the crap out of the falcons, or else its gonna be hell for me in school.

              Re: 2007 schedule

I took a look at the schedule and threw some numbers together for giggles..

The combined win/loss record of next year's opponents, based on this year's final results is 121-135. So, it's not a difficult schedule looking solely at records, and I'm not sure what you can derive from that data anyway. I thought the schedule this year was going to be fairly difficult, but after the fact, the combined record of our opponents was 117-139.

The fact that we played a total of 7 games against teams with a final record of better than 7-9, and won only 2 of those (Denver 9-7, GB 8-8) is probably a better measure of our true success. (or failure) Next year, we play five games against playoff teams, (Seattle twice) and a total of nine games against teams with 8-8 or better records. (from 2006 season) This indicates that our schedule next year is only slightly more difficult than 2006, based on records. The real difficulty may be that of the five playoff teams on the schedule, 4 of those are on the road. (Dal, Bal, NO, Sea) Of course, one of the Seattle games will be played in our dome. With the Whiners showing signs of life, and the Deadbirds with a new head coach, who knows, maybe the NFC West will be a tough division next year. If so, the schedule could be tougher then it looks at first glance. Whatever all this means, we need to vastly improve to make a serious run at the playoffs next year.

Could you tell I was bored at lunch today?

Let's just start by winning the first game, whomever it is.

We should expect a tougher schedule than this years 6-10 schedule. We are now in the 8-8 schedule. However one never knows who the flops and surprises are going to be from season to season.

I love the idea of 16 and 0, but it's a little aerly and there is alot of drafting and FA, coach changes etc to happen. Although the Martz in arizona is interesting. With a 3-13 lions and a mid to puke offsence I don't why a team would give him a job but I know it's been talked about

I can see no reason why we wouldnt win all our home games next year, with NO and Baltimore away being our only probable losses

Only 3 chances for cold weather games (Cincy, Balt., Seattle)......that I like.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I'm glad about this as well,I'm never confident when we are playing in cold and difficult conditions..Would say that we have a challenging schedule, but you can never really tell at this point of the year what teams are gonna be strong next year..:l

Not sure if you all knew this.

                                Here you go:

                                Monday, January 17, 2005
The NFL’s new scheduling format includes the following elements:
                                • There will be an increased common-opponent emphasis with every team in a division playing against 14 common opponents.
                                • All teams will play each other on a regular basis, home and away, for a more consistent presentation of attractive games, eliminating the many schedule aberrations of the past.
                                • Teams are guaranteed to play all non-division opponents in their conference at least once every three years, and at home at least once every six years.
                                • Every AFC team will play every NFC team once every four years, and at home once every eight years.
                                • A team’s record from the previous year will have less of a bearing on its schedule, with only two (rather than four) opponents being based on the previous year’s standing. Thus, the so-called “easy” fifth-place schedules are eliminated.
                                • The division in which a team resides will be less of a factor in a team’s won-loss record with 10 of 16 games each year being against non-division teams.

Under the new scheduling formula, every team within a division will play 16 games as follows:
                                • Home and away against its three division opponents (6 games).
                                • The four teams from another division within its conference on a rotating three-year cycle (4 games).
                                • The four teams from a division in the other conference on a rotating four-year cycle (4 games).
                                • Two intraconference games based on the prior year's standings (2 games). These games will match a first-place team against the first-place teams in the two same-conference divisions the team is not scheduled to play that season. The second-place, third-place, and fourth-place teams in a conference will be matched in the same way each year.

Found this site that list out the Schedules for all the NFL teams and who they play out of the division

                                http://www.johnnyroadtrip.com/sched...future_nfcw.htm

Note: Each team plays the other teams in its division home and away each season in addition to games listed; last game in each column to be determined by previous year's finish

No matter what happens Sunday against Arizona, the Rams will finish last in the NFC West for the first time since 1998.

As a result, the Rams’ entire slate of opponents has been determined for the 2008 season. Besides playing home and away games against each of their NFC West rivals, the Rams’ schedule has a decidedly eastern tilt. The Rams will play the entire NFC East and the entire AFC East next year.

The only games determined by the Rams’ division finish are one against the NFC North and one against the NFC South. Atlanta is assured of a last-place finish in the South, so the Rams will play the Falcons. Similarly, Chicago is assured of a last-place finish in the North, so the Rams will play the Bears.

(Chicago and Detroit could both finish 7-9 in the North if the Bears win Sunday and the Lions lose. But under that scenario, Detroit still finishes ahead of Chicago in the standings because the Lions swept the season series with the Bears.)
Here’s how the Rams’ 2008 schedule breaks down in terms of home and away foes:

Home: Arizona, San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas, New York Giants, Buffalo, Miami, Chicago.

Away: Arizona, San Francisco, Seattle, Philadelphia, Washington, New England, New York Jets, Atlanta.
The dates and times of each game won’t be determined until next spring.

Although the times and dates won't be set until the spring, the Rams know who their opponents are in 2009.

At home, the Rams face Green Bay, Houston, Indianapolis, Minnesota and New Orleans, as well as NFC West foes Arizona, San Francisco and Seattle.

On the road, the Rams play Chicago, Detroit, Jacksonville, Tennessee and Washington, plus their division foes.

Fourteen of the 16 opponents were predetermined entering this season because of the NFL's scheduling formula.

The only games decided based on the Rams' division finish were the New Orleans and Washington contests.

The Saints (NFC South) and Redskins (NFC East) finished last in their divisions, as did the Rams in the West.
