    Anyone else surprised about Eby?

    I wonder what the story is with the release of andy eby, projected by many as our backup center (assuming mccollum is the starting guard). I think we have carried this guy for a while and while it would not have stunned me if he was cut at the end of camp, i was surprised by the timing. I think this means that rookie larry turner will make the team, rather than the practice squad.

      yeah, my only guess is that turner, king, and tercero have done really well so eby was the odd man out. the rams probably released him this early so that he would have a chance to catch on somewhere else. thats the only thing i can really think of right now.

          I'm curious if he's going to be on the practice squad now that the number of players you can carry there has increased.

              Nick, i agree completely that i would have thought he would be a great candidate for the practice squad if he was the last lineman cut. Now, he will probably wind up on another team with a chance to make the squad.

                  I think that we will claim McGarigle and waive Magro off the practice squad once McGarigle clears waivers (assuming that he is eligible for the practice squad). That may be it for roster moves until the season starts.

                  As for claiming willie anderson, i am not sure who we would waive. I think we were testing him out in case pace goes down again and we wanted to determine what kind of shape his knee is in. I cant see us waiving either of the 2 rookies, the five starters are safe, romberg is the backup center, goldberg is safe. The most expendable guy is probably romberg, who is injured anyway and i guess incognito could always be the backup center.

                  I dont know if we could use the PUP for romberg at this point and have him sit six weeks.

                  I am back at work today after being virtually flat on my back for almost a week. I was sick as a dog for two weeks, but as usual, refused to go to the doctor until it was absolutely necessary.

                  Has anyone eaten at the Eagle Deli in Boston?

                  I saw a great program on the travel channel this weekend called man vs. food. The host (adam something, a guy from brooklyn) travels around the country finding the spiciest foods and the largest portions possible.

                  He ate at the eagle deli in boston and tried to consume their 5 pound burger that comes with 7 pounds of fries and a large pickle. 1500 people have tried, but no one has finished it within the one hour limit. THe host ate 7 pounds but came up short.

                  The burger looked amazing, its 10 half pound patties.
