QB Chris Chandler and DE Sean Moran, offseason free-agent pickups, are in their second stints with the Rams. Chandler played for the Los Angeles Rams in 1994 and Moran was with the team in 2000 and 2001.

    Overheard:
"He looks like the Marshall of old out here, but we'll see. We're really cautious with him. He feels so good, and when he's like that we try not to put a damper on it. But we also just want him to be cautious and take this thing in stride." - Coach Mike Martz, on frisky RB Marshall Faulk.
"I felt comfortable hanging the whistle over my neck and the stopwatch. That was pretty fun, telling kids what to do." - C-G Chris Dishman, on his duties as a high school coach in Lincoln, Neb., before Martz persuaded him to "unretire" and report to Rams camp.

MACOMB, Ill. -- Safety Tom Knight, a six-year veteran who played last season with the Baltimore Ravens, signed a one-year contract with the Rams today.

Knight, 5-foot-11 and 196 pounds, was a first-round draft pick (ninth overall) out of Iowa by the Arizona Cardinals in 1997. He played five seasons for the Cardinals.

Knight spent the final three weeks of the 2002 season on the Ravens' roster, then played 10 games last season for Baltimore, starting one.

For his NFL career, Knight has played in 73 games and started 54. He also has appeared in three postseason games.

The Rams released running back Adam Matthews, a rookie out of Northern Colorado who signed with the team April 30.
