Re: Pace news from ESPN
Originally posted by HUbisonActually, I expect him to sign long-term this year. He has to see that the Rams will just keep on franchising him, therefore no signing bonus, and more importantly, less money to buy donuts. Unless he is an absolute moron, he signs long-term now and cashs in.

Re: Pace news from ESPN
Originally posted by NickSeilerHis franchise tender money is guaranteed though once he signs it. While he'd probably enjoy the idea of making $16-20 million in bonus money up front, he made $5 million last year and $7 million this year when he signs, and again, it's guaranteed. So it's not like he's at a huge disadvantage, but the difference between the bonus and tender money is significant. I don't know if it's significant enough to warrant signing long-term, though. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Originally posted by HUbisonWell, call me blue-collar, but I would think an extra $11-15 million in my pocket would be significant.
