Smith may turn out to be decent someday. Oh well, I guess you have to cut somebody.

PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) --

The Cardinals also acquired wide receiver Derek McCoy and linebacker Justin Smith, both cut this week by St. Louis.

McCoy, an undrafted free agent from Colorado, signed with the Rams in April. He caught 134 passes for 2,038 yards and 20 touchdowns -- tied for the career record in TDs -- in 48 games with the Buffaloes.

Smith, undrafted out of Indiana, signed with Tampa Bay in 2003 and spent most of last season on the Buccaneers practice squad before signing with the Rams on Dec. 11. He played in three games with the Rams.
