  • a (RE)introduction thread

    As we always do this time of year;

I would request that we all introduce ourselves to the rest of the Clan. We have received a lot of new members over the year that are dying to hear about you. This would be a good opportunity for some of you new-comers to jump in with both feet. Don't be just a lurker - come in, make your self at home, we want to hear what you have to say!!

RamWraith--Formally known as J-Ram. Ram fan since 1978, Father of one. Stuck in the Vikingland for the last 12 year, enjoy the climate and scenery but the company could be much better. Been with the Clan since about 1997.

Ram fan since the late 70s. Reside in Weston, Florida (a suburb in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area). Married, 2 kids, 2 dogs, a python, two turtles and 2 newts. I'm an attorney specializing in labor and employment law, which I enjoy, but, all in all, I'd rather be birdwatching.

HUbison - name taken from my alma mater of many moons ago, Harding University. Go Bison.

Ram fan since the move to St. Louis in '95. Born & raised in the bootheel of Missouri. Married with one baby boy (who, everyday, is becoming less of a baby, much to the chagrin of his mother). I'm a forensic accountant, which is actually more fun than it sounds, but nowhere as much fun as Ram football.

The Clan is a great place to be. A lot of good people with a lot of different perspectives, information & opinions. We laugh, we cry, it's better than Cats.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.

gap (notice lower case) - Been a RAMS fan since Georgia told Tags to shove it, and moved to St Louis anyway. (AKA: ref critic)

Lived in the St. Louis area all of my life; till I wised up and listened to my wife. Now we live in NC, about 7 miles NE of Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base; where I work as a PC Tech.

As you can tell, I have a strong dislike for tagbut and his minions. I hope for the day that the RAMS get the favoritism that the whiners always seemed to get (don't think it will happen until they leave tags' most hated city, or tags is gone). And of course the day tagbut is removed from the NFL front office.

Have been a fan since the Kapp v Gabriel day's. Many Many Moons Ago..

Have 2 children, 2 cats and one Wife of 18 years (truly my better half). I am a Financial Planner by day, but my real job is driving my kids around town.

Was a steadfast Warnerite... but have moved on. I had a bunch of posts (170 or so - I think) on the old board, but was locked out of the new one for quite some time. I must have been bad!!!

I am married with an 8 yr old boy who is a Packers fan. But slowly I am winning him over to the side of rightousness. I have been a clan member since 2000 and I think its the greatest Rams board out there.

                            Greetings all!

I have been a Ram fan since the 80's when I was a kid in Los Angeles. Moved to mid Missouri in '88 and was estatic when the team moved to St. Louis so I could watch them about every week on TV again. I am now 31 and live in Kansas City with my wife of 4 years and our two cats. I work at a Children's Hospital doing computer and network support. Been to every game the Rams have played in Kansas City for the past few years (pre-season and regular) since I moved to KC. Sometimes getting free tickets to see my Rams play from my wife who works for a TV station is great!

Taking Deep Breaths Since Last Night
                                by macrammer
                                Hello Clan,

As a long time Rams fan since 1967, I think it is safe to say, I have seen plenty of ups and downs as a dedicated Ram fan. From the move to St. Louis to the SB victory, many playoff losses to the dreaded Vikings and Cowboys in 70's, last night was but a small chapter in the ups and downs of being a Ram fan.

From 1967-1989, the Rams were quite a force. 4 losing seasons in that 23 year span. FOUR. We had a great ownership during this span, Carroll Rosenbloom. Well respected around the league with good football knowledge. I got used to this team winning and being at the the top tier of the NFL.

From 1990 - present, post Carroll, we have had 4 winning seasons. FOUR. We did win our first SB Championship during this span, but other then that 4 year blip, pretty sad state of affairs given our history and a bitter pill to swallow.

I believe the biggest move the Ram franchise made in recent time, was the transfer of ownership from Georgia heirs to Stan Kroeneke.

Times have changed for sure, football is different then when Carroll was alive but it is still (primarily) x and o's, blocking, tackling etc.

I am excited about our prospects in returning to the winning tradition the Rams are about. I am very hopeful our new owner gets this and wants nothing less then a winning product year in and year out. I believe we have the foundation required to sustain a winning tradition. of course, we do need to add some more talent but we have proven as an organization, we can do that CONSISTENTLY.

Last night was not enjoyable for sure, but this season was mostly fun, some pain but laced with promise. I look for the Rams to continue moving forward in the way we should given our storied history. And I do appreciate this site for it's insight and friendships built over past few seasons.

                                Regards,
                                Macrammer

Constructive Ideas "Make ClanRam Great Again"
                                by AvengerRam
Forgive my parody-laden title - this is NOT a political thread.

Rather, its a follow-up to the poll/thread on ClanRam's decline. At viper's suggestion, I'm posting this alternate thread to give people a chance to make suggestions as to how to pump ClanRam's membership/participation up to levels reached in the past.

I'm not going to set any ground rules (and its not like I could enforce them anyway), but I will politely ask that responses be productive. If you want to place blame, please do so on the other thread. This one is for positive ideas for the future, rather than focusing on the past....

New to Clan Ram...lifelong Ram Fan
                                by RamHawk
                                Hey folks,

I may be new to this forum, but I am hardly new to the Rams. I have follwoed these guys since I was little. My first game I watched was between the Redskins (my dad's favorite) and the Rams. I saw Deacon Jones abusing Sonn Jurgensen with ferocity and I was hooked. Roman was fun to watch. One of my all-time favorite RBs was Les Josephson.

                                I was hooked.

Why Hawk you ask? In 1976, the Seahawks came into the league and I could finally attend gamkes in person. I never lost my allegiance to the Rams suffering pain and misery in Super Bowl XIV. The Hawks were fun to watch. THey were also my pathway to see the Rams in person (which seemed to occur mostly during pre-season games).

It has been bittersweet to have teh two teams in the same division now. It is a struggle as to who to root for. I hold season tix to the Hawks (since 2001).

One of my Ram highlites was when I was able to shoot freelance on the field during the Rams/Hawks game to open the 2001 Season...following the Superbowl victory. Spening time in the locker room post game was a challenge for me...as a fan.

Anyway, I decided to start talking about the Rams with Rams fans.

                                by AvengerRam_old
It seems that we have a nice combination of returning old ClanRam members and transplanted Insiders/ClanRam members here on this awesome new site. As we don't all know each other, perhaps some reintroductions are in order.

                                I'll go first:

I am a long time Ram fan from South Florida. I started following the team as a kid because I liked the uniform, and I never stopped. I am an attorney with a wife and two kids. In addition to football, I like cooking, birding, and am a big fan of mythology. I write my own "epic" version of the Rams' exploits called the Book of SpiralHorns, and will continue doing so here on the Real ClanRam. Oh... and I never post polls... well, almost never... okay, sometimes... alright, often.... okay, you'll be sick of them before you know it.

                                Who's next?
