  • Injury to Pisa-how bad is it?

Pisa, after killing the guy trying to catch the pass, left with the separated shoulder and returned later. In the post game, martz, who is not exactly a fountain of veracity in terms of discussing injuries to the squad, said in the postgame that he might miss "a few weeks."

Lets all hold our breath, we are thin to start at that position and trev faulk went out today as well.

If he was going to miss a few weeks, why did he return to the game and play?

Plenty of players have played after a seperated shoulder.

Game day adrenaline is one thing. But giving the body a new day to complain about stretched tendons, ligaments, and muscles that's another. If it were the playoffs, I'd expect to see him ...

He played later in the game with a harness. Good point, if it was the playoffs, he would play, but we cant afford to lose him long term, better to let it heal a bit and get him back healthy.

              Hey serkicker32,

I'm about two hours down the road (about 5 miles from Bear Island, 20 min from Emerald Isle). What do you do on gameday? Go anyplace, or watch at home?

                LeBentley Charles carted off-knee injury
                by general counsel
Charles apparantly injured his knee, was on the ground for several minutes and had to be carted off during the browns first 11-11 practice.

Bad, bad luck, lets hope its not as serious as it appears. This is the kind of thing that makes me crazy about training camp.

In injury news, safety Andre Kirkland suffered a hyper extended left knee and his return is questionable. Tackle Todd Steussie suffered a foot injury and went to the locker room for x rays.

Updating Steussie’s condition, he suffered a broken left foot in the second quarter.

faulks comments on trent greens knee injury
                by general counsel
In the post dispatch article on faulks retirement, there is a great section on faulk speaking out for the first time about trent green's injury. Bottom line, apparantly faulk blocked rodney harrison on the blitz, and given the "unwritten rule" for preseason where a veteran player stays blocked once blocked, he felt that harrison had been blocked. However, harrison lunged at greens knee after the block, leading to the injury, for which faulk felt responsible.

This settles once and for all (as if there was any question) as to whether this was a clean hit by harrison. Classic never ending cheap shot.
